We Need Not Walk Alone. We Are The Compassionate Friends.

Grief touches more than people can see.
It is not only tears.

It is health.
Routines.
Work.

Relationships.
Energy.
Memory.

Body.
Sleep.
Faith.

Patience.
Identity.
Trust.

The way we move through every ordinary day.

There is not a single part of life grief does not reach. So please be gentle with yourself or the version of someone who is learning how to live again after their whole world changed.

Love this deep was never going to stay in one place.

Have you ever won anything or thought of yourself as a winner? What could that possibly mean to be a winner at grief? Does it mean that you cried the most tears or that your grief was more intense than others? Come join us at our next meeting and discover what this means. We will be meeting on Monday, August 31st, at 7:00pm, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, New Ulm.

If your child/grandchild/sibling has an August birthday, you are welcome to share pictures, mementos and stories about your child/grandchild/sibling. You are also welcome to bring treats, maybe even something special that your loved one particularly liked to eat. Just let us know if that is your plan. If your loved one was not on earth long enough to take photos, create memories or stories, please share with us some of the wishes and dreams that you had for them.

IMPORTANT - If you would prefer to join via Zoom, please message us (preferably a day or two ahead of time) and we will send you the Zoom link. If you are joining via Zoom, we encourage you to log on before the meeting begins - the link is active at 6:30pm. This way we can ensure that everyone is connected before we start.

TCF is committed to helping bereaved families, regardless of the circumstances. We will persevere and continue to offer healing and hope to those who have experienced the death of a child, grandchild, or sibling.

We Need Not Walk Alone. We are The Compassionate Friends.

We Need Not Walk Alone. We Are The Compassionate Friends.

We will be offering another free webinar on Wednesday, August 12th at 4:00 pm EDT entitled, "Understanding Others in My Family: The Different Ways We Grieve and Cope," presented by Andy McNiel. Grief, just like our relationships with others in our family, is personal. The relationship we had with our beloved person who died is unique to each individual. Grief can be expressed and experienced in a variety of ways. It can be helpful to recognize different styles of grieving and coping within your family unit, including your own personal approach. Understanding and awareness can impact how we interact with, support, and seek comfort from one another after someone we love dies. This presentation will consider different ways we grieve and cope. We will discuss some of the personal and interpersonal challenges that result from different grief and coping styles, and explore ways we can give grace to ourselves and others living with profound grief. MEETING REMINDER: Monday, July 27th, 7pm.

For our July meeting, we plan to discuss anniversaries. Some years just hit harder than others. Maybe it’s the days lining up the same as back then and you find the whole scene playing through your mind again, like a loop that you can’t stop. Our next meeting will be on Monday, July 27th, at 7:00pm, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, New Ulm.

If your child/grandchild/sibling has a July birthday, you are welcome to share pictures, mementos and stories about your child/grandchild/sibling. You are also welcome to bring treats, maybe even something special that your loved one particularly liked to eat. Just let us know if that is your plan. If your loved one was not on earth long enough to take photos, create memories or stories, please share with us some of the wishes and dreams that you had for them.

We couldn't agree more!

We Need Not Walk Alone. We Are The Compassionate Friends.

July is Bereaved Parents Month, and sometimes the smallest acts of kindness leave the deepest impact.

When someone remembers our child on an ordinary day, it reminds us that their life still matters to someone besides us.

You don’t need perfect words.

A simple text. A shared memory. Their name.

Those moments don’t erase grief, but they do ease the loneliness that can come with it.

If you know a bereaved parent, consider sending that message today. You may never fully realize what it means—but they will.

💜 Bereaved parents, what is one message you’ll never forget receiving about your child?

People often expect grief to look the same inside a family.

It rarely does.

The same child.
The same loss.
Two completely different ways of carrying it.
