Our last week of seniors before they all graduate! This week is Everett Brown and Ryan Johnson!

Ryan Johnson has been in Band, Jazz Band, Oak Street Singers, and Concert Choir. His favorite memory is having fun at Solo/Small Ensemble contest. His message to all those involved is “The real Fine Arts is the friends you make along the way.”

Everett Brown has been in Men of Note, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. His favorite memory was “when Mr Olson let us meditate in class one day, sophomore year, and we all kept laughing because it was so quiet, and we all got yelled at,” and his message to all of those in choir and band is “You are the arts!”

Almost done with all of our Seniors! 🥹 This week we have Sophie Berger & Elizabeth Pearson!

Sophie Berger has been in Band and Concert Choir. Her favorite memory is “the shenanigans during the car ride to and from the Dorian Festival.” And she would like everyone in the music department to know “You’re all in this together!” 🏀❤️👏

Elizabeth Pearson has been in Bel Canto, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. Her favorite memory is “The Spring Concert, which is always full of laughs and upbeat songs. It's the best way to end the year and sing one last time with each other.” She encourages everyone, “No matter what happens, don’t stop being passionate about this program, don’t let changes stop you from enjoying everything it has to offer.”

Another group of more of our amazing seniors, this week we would like to recognize Jonas, Hunter, and Taylynn!

Jonas Rainwater has been in Band and Jazz Band. His favorite memory was “going to the hockey games at Gustavus my freshman year with the pep band.” He encourages all those involved in music to “find the time to keep doing art, it’s worth every second.”

Hunter Dauer has been in Men of Note, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. His favorite memory is “my freshman year, men of note receiving a superior on our performance at contest”, and his words of encouragement is “We must face the choice between what is right and what is easy.”

Taylynn Paulson joined choir this year! She says “I love the vibe of Choir. Even though I have only been here for a year, I am so glad to have made the connections I have in this short time!” She encourages all those in music: “No matter what happens with this program, don't let go of the passion you have for music!”

This week, we recognize Ellie Anderson & Alyson Leslie!

Ellie Anderson has been involved in Bel Canto, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. Her favorite memory is “singing a solo my freshman year for contest and creating an amazing family with those around me!” and she encourages people to join choir, cause you won’t regret it!

Alyson Leslie has been in Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. Her favorite memory has been “the in-between moments spent with my friends.” She encourages everyone to “keep working hard, even if you hit rough patches, because it always comes together to become something amazing in the end!"

Another group of our wonderful seniors, this week we would like to recognize Tyson, Sophie L., and Aiden! Also, good luck to all of our music department students in the play! GO PUFFS!!

Tyson Goold has been in Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. His favorite memory has been “goofing off with the rest of the guys in choir during rehearsals and coming up with our own inside jokes”. He also wants to tell the underclassmen to “keep going no matter what. There might be challenges like a loss of director, but don’t let that discourage you. You’re great musicians, and you can keep this program alive.”

Sophie Lund has been in Bel Canto, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. Her favorite memory is “going to contests and hanging out with friends”, and she encourages all to “Join/continue choir, you will meet so many people there and make so many core memories.”

Aiden Burbank joined Concert Band this year! His favorite memory is “going to a St. Louis band trip with his friends,” and he encourages everyone to “stay focused and don’t give up on pursuing your own dream and or hobbies.”

This week, we want to recognize Casey Johnson & Bronwyn Schlagel!

Casey Johnson joined Concert Choir this year! Her favorite memory is “going to contest for my first time, and the choir receiving a superior rating!” and she encourages all those in music to “Keep working hard and having fun! Don’t underestimate yourself and your abilities!”

Bronwyn Schlagel has been in Bel Canto, Concert Band, Concert Choir and Oak Street Singers. Her favorite memory is “Going to contests and doing the concerts, I love seeing everyone’s hard work pay off. I also just love spending time goofing off with my friends.” She also encourages those in choir and band, “Enjoy the experiences because they go by so fast.”

We want to recognize and celebrate all of our talented seniors graduating this year! This week, we start by recognizing Lexi Goff, Gage Latozke, and Betsy Joyce!!! 🎹🎶

Lexi Goff has been in Bel Canto, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. Her favorite memory through the years is “The Dorian Vocal Festival! I learned so much! I also got to go with my best friends, which makes the experience even better! Being in a choir of 800+ people changed my perspective on choir and grew my love for music!”

Gage Latozke has been in Men of Note, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. He says he “will miss making fun of Hunter Dauer and spending time with friends in choir the most.”

Betsy Joyce has been in Band, Concert Choir, and Oak Street Singers. Her favorite memory is “receiving superior ratings for our choirs this year after working really hard, and I encourage those currently in band and choir to just stay involved!”

Contest season is officially over! Congrats to Concert Choir, Concert Band, and Oak Street Singers for earning their 4th superior rating in a row, and Jazz Band for earning their 2nd superior rating in a row.
