Buckeye Central Local Schools At Buckeye Central Local Schools, we nurture, inspire, and empower our students to succeed!

Buckeye Central Schools is located in New Washington, a village in Crawford County, Ohio. We proudly serve over 600 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. We offer a variety of academic and extra-curricular opportunities to prepare students for college and career readiness. The district serves students from Crawford, Seneca, Huron, and Richland counties including the villages of Bloomville, Chatfield, New Washington, and Tiro. We partner with Pioneer Career & Technical Center in Shelby to make career and technical programs available to juniors and seniors. Our students also have access to Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP+) classes at various colleges/universities. Our vision is to inspire students to be passionate learners and thinkers assuring success as confident and creative builders of their future. To find success in realizing this vision, we strive daily to communicate to succeed. Our school community is enhanced through a deep sense of community pride, fine traditions, and teamwork. The collaboration between the board members, administration, dedicated teachers, support staff, and community partners, make our schools exemplary. Our central belief is: when students come FIRST our successes can be limitless.

An important piece of your life, told in just six words. What would yours say? ❤️

After reading Saroo Brierley’s memoir, Lion, Ms. Amy Frederick’s seventh graders took on that challenge, choosing meaningful memories to turn into six-word memoirs.

Using Google Draw, students paired their words with thoughtfully chosen images, fonts, and punctuation. Their designs were then printed onto 4×4 basswood pieces using Glowforge technology.

Each finished piece holds a personal story, giving classmates a chance to know one another a little better, six words at a time.

One minute, they’re your competition. The next, they’re cheering you on. ❤️

That’s Monday Madness at Buckeye Central! As part of our new high school Crews this year, students plan games that start with friendly competition within their Crew before taking on the others together.

From Head/Shoulders/Knees/Cup to Knock Out, there’s been plenty to cheer about. A Humane Society visit with two dogs even inspired two challenges: eating cereal like a dog and a frisbee-throwing contest.

A little friendly competition within each Crew, followed by cheering each other on against the other Crews, is bringing our students closer with every challenge! ❤️

The Bucks had 71 extra reasons to feel the love against Calvert! 📣

Our mini cheerleaders took to the track to help cheer on the Bucks, bringing plenty of energy in a little-sized package. Being part of Friday night football is a big deal for aspiring cheerleaders, and we loved seeing them get their moment.

❤️ The work happening in Buckeye Central’s robotics program earned an invitation we’re pretty proud of.

BC was among a select group of schools from across Ohio invited to present at the Ohio AI Impact Showcase. Two of our students shared how they use AI in robotics with state leaders, legislators and educators helping shape the future of education.

Think about that for a moment. The people making decisions about AI in Ohio schools had the opportunity to learn from our students.

Joining them were Director of Technology Tammy Studer, Superintendent Barb Green, and Mr. Zac Kaple.

What started as learning here at BC became something worth sharing at the state level. To our student presenters and the educators who helped them get there: you gave this community a whole lot to be proud of. ❤️

The two teamed up to design last week’s BC Pride board, celebrating our school campus. We love seeing students take pride in their surroundings and turn that appreciation into something to share with everyone who walks by.

❤️ Before the first school bell rings, our bus drivers are already looking out for our Bucks and Buckettes.

For National School Bus Safety Week, they’re sharing a few reminders to help every ride go safely:

🚌 Be ready early. Arrive at least 5 minutes before pickup and wait in your designated place of safety. Never run after or near the bus.
• Wait at drop-off. Stay in your designated place of safety until the bus pulls away.
• Stay seated. Face forward with your back against the seat and feet on the floor while the bus is moving.
• Keep aisles clear. Keep backpacks, sports gear and instruments on your lap or under the seat.
• Save snacks for later. No eating or drinking on the bus helps prevent choking and food allergy reactions.

To our BC drivers: thank you for the patience, attention and care you bring to every route. We trust you with some pretty precious passengers, and we’re grateful for you every day. ❤️

🎈 Keeping a balloon in the air is one thing. Keeping it going back and forth across a net with a teammate? Now THAT takes some skill!

Our K–2 students have been putting their coordination and teamwork to the test in PE! From solo balloon volleys to paddle challenges across the net, these young Bucks and Buckettes have made some impressive progress!

❤️ We love seeing our students build confidence, cheer each other on, and discover what they can do with a little practice!
