Buckeye Central Schools is located in New Washington, a village in Crawford County, Ohio. We proudly serve over 600 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. We offer a variety of academic and extra-curricular opportunities to prepare students for college and career readiness. The district serves students from Crawford, Seneca, Huron, and Richland counties including the villages of Bloomvill

e, Chatfield, New Washington, and Tiro. We partner with Pioneer Career & Technical Center in Shelby to make career and technical programs available to juniors and seniors. Our students also have access to Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP+) classes at various colleges/universities. Our vision is to inspire students to be passionate learners and thinkers assuring success as confident and creative builders of their future. To find success in realizing this vision, we strive daily to communicate to succeed. Our school community is enhanced through a deep sense of community pride, fine traditions, and teamwork. How far is a State Medal-winning long jump? 🤔🏃‍♂️

The campers at Camp Invention decided to find out!

Inspired by Buckeye Central's own Collin Perry and his incredible 3rd-place finish in the Long Jump at the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships, campers measured out 22 feet across the floor to see if they could match his jump. (And fun fact: Collin actually jumped even farther than that!)

The results? It usually took campers three or four jumps to cover the same distance that Collin soared in just one leap! 🤯

What a fun way to put an amazing athletic accomplishment into perspective and connect our campers with one of BC's own state standouts.

Good luck to Collin as he competes in the State Finals today in the 100M and 200M Dash! The entire BC community is cheering you on! ❤️🦌

Before the school year came to a close, staff gathered one last time to share lunch, celebrate another successful year, and recognize a group of individuals who have made a lasting impact on Buckeye Central.

Today's is dedicated to our retirees. While students have started their summer break, we wanted to take one more opportunity to thank these special members of the BC family for their years of service, dedication, and care for our students. 🌟

The lessons they taught, the relationships they built, and the difference they made will continue to be felt for years to come.

Teamwork, strategy, and plenty of energy filled the room during Camp Invention games with Mrs. Kaple and Miss Ackerman! 🌳

Campers took part in a variety of challenges that encouraged them to think creatively, work together, and support one another. From high-energy activities to strategy-based games, students learned that some of the best solutions come from collaboration and encouragement.

These games were more than just fun—they helped campers build confidence, strengthen teamwork skills, and create lasting memories with new friends. ❤️🖤

🥉 STATE MEDALIST! 🥉

Congratulations to Buckeye Central's Collin Perry on an incredible performance at the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships!

Yesterday, Collin earned a spot on the podium by finishing 3rd in Ohio in the Long Jump with a personal-record jump of 22' 6". What an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to the hard work he's put in all season long. ❤️🦌

And the journey isn't over yet!

After strong performances in the preliminary rounds, Collin has advanced to the State Finals in both the 100M and 200M Dash and will be back on the track today competing against the best athletes in Ohio.

Our preschool campers spent the week exploring, creating, building, and discovering through hands-on STEAM activities. From experimenting and problem-solving to art projects and imaginative play, each day was filled with opportunities to learn while having fun.

🏐🏃‍♀️ Attention Buckeye Central student-athletes and families! 🏈⚽

Tomorrow, Friday, June 5, is the LAST DAY to sign up for Avita's upcoming free sports physicals on Saturday, June 13. ⏰

The physicals will be held tomorrow, at Avita Ontario South Campus and are available for student-athletes entering grades 7-12 this fall.

Important reminders:
✔️ Appointments are required. No walk-ins will be accepted.
✔️ Sign-up deadline is TOMORROW, Friday, June 5.
✔️ Physicals take approximately 15-20 minutes.
✔️ Athletes must arrive 10 minutes early.
✔️ All required forms must be completed and signed before arriving.

Don't wait until the last minute to get this important requirement checked off your summer to-do list!

Tomorrow, Collin Perry will take the state's biggest stage as he represents Buckeye Central at the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships!

Collin earned the incredible honor of qualifying in three events:

🏃 100m Dash
🏃 200m Dash
🏃 Long Jump

Qualifying for state is a tremendous accomplishment. Qualifying in three events speaks volumes about the hard work, determination, and dedication Collin has shown throughout the season.
