The Borough is aware that some residents may be experiencing temporary water discoloration. Our Maintenance Department is actively flushing the water system to help clear the affected areas.

Attention: New Wilmington Borough & Area Residents and Businesses

Recently, a fake $10.00 bill was rendered at a New Wilmington area business. The fake bill was discovered by a counterfeit detection device at a NWB bank when the business was depositing proceeds. The fake bill is motion picture money (a movie prop). The fake bill looks fairly real at a quick glance but is clearly printed in multiple places on the front and back "MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES". Additionally, fake Hollywood bills do not have official Federal Reserve or Treasury seals. Obviously, these fake notes also do not have security features (micro-printing, color-shifting ink, security threads, etc.) common in U.S. currency. It is not illegal to possess this motion picture money as a novelty or curio, but it is against the law to knowingly use it as a substitute for legitimate money. Please watch out for motion picture bills should anyone knowingly or unknowingly pass or attempt to pass them to you as U.S. Currency. Report any incidents to the New Wilmington Police Department right away.
