🚒 Maypoles, Ninjas, and Fire Trucks! 🚒
What a fantastic day in New Windsor! Our literacy event was a huge success, and we loved seeing so many smiling faces today

We kicked things off with a traditional Maypole dance, followed by a very special reading of Firefighter Ninja. A huge thank you to our local New Windsor firefighter who took the time to read to the group—the kids were all ears!

Every child went home with their very own copy of the book to keep the adventure going. To top it all off, everyone got a front-row tour of a real fire truck and a tasty snack before heading home.

Protecting the raptors at Hashawha Environmental Center and Bear Branch Nature Center matters because these incredible birds help keep ecosystems balanced by controlling rodent and pest populations. Many of the hawks, owls, and eagles at Bear Branch are rescued birds that can’t return to the wild, and they now help educate visitors about conservation. By protecting them and their habitats, we’re preserving wildlife, supporting environmental education, and ensuring future generations can appreciate these amazing birds of prey. 🦅🦉🌿
