🚨 SURVEY: Help us understand how Essential Plan cuts will impact home care workers, family caregivers, and consumers in NYS!

The federal Big Ugly Bill cut $1 trillion from Medicaid. As a result of this and Gov Hochul's unwillingness to backfill federal cuts - half a million NYers who make between 200-250% of the federal poverty line will lose their Medicaid-funded Essential Plan insurance on July 1. It’s anticipated that even steeper cuts are coming next year that could threaten Medicaid coverage to another million New Yorkers or more.

BREAKING: Home care workers, consumers, and Comptroller candidate Drew Warshaw delivered 'The People's Audit' to Comptroller DiNapoli's Albany office.

DiNapoli refuses to audit PPL's $11 billion CDPAP program, so we did it ourselves. 200k+ workers and consumers have fled the program. Workers aren't getting paid. And the Comptroller has done nothing.

'The People's Audit' is a full compilation of testimonials and documented CDPAP failures from across New York State.

Thomas DiNapoli, the state comptroller in New York since 2007, now faces his first primary challenge, as two Democrats hope to capitalize on anti-incumbent fervor.

BREAKING: Caring Majority Rising is proud to announce our 2026 Candidates Who Care endorsement slate! We are standing behind these candidates because they understand what is at stake for our members and for the millions of New Yorkers who depend on home care.

These 46 incumbents and challengers have committed to building a home care system that works for the people who depend on it, not Wall Street and private equity.

They have committed to fighting for fair pay for home care workers, for real oversight of how Medicaid dollars are spent, and for removing corporate middlemen from a system that should exist to serve people, not maximize profits.

Our endorsement means that these candidates have earned the trust of home care workers, older and disabled New Yorkers, and family caregivers to deliver a New York that truly prioritizes care over profits.

We are proud to stand behind candidates who recognize that New Yorkers deserve Care Not Corruption – let’s get these champions elected!

With hope,
The Caring Majority Rising Endorsement Team

I'm honored to earn the endorsement of . We must win publicly-funded home care that:
- works for and offers dignity to everyone who depends on it
- pays caregivers fair wages for all of their work

MUST WATCH‼️Caring Majority leader and family caregiver, Jon McFarlane, gives an emotional speech on the state of home and health care in NY State — and what it all means to him, his 93 year-old father, and hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers.

His tl;dr – things are BAD thanks to the privatization of care (and will get worse due to federal Medicaid cuts), but there are true solutions! It was a privilege to join so many movement partners in Albany yesterday to call on legislators to pass the NY Health Act, the Home Care Savings & Reinvestment Act, and the Primary Care Investment Act.

LET’S GET IT DONE! “Not now, RIGHT now.” ❤️
