Keep Moving Forward – it is a phrase so simple, yet defines us as an organization, and as a nation. It's a phrase which tells us, that with every victory comes a new challenge, and with every challenge comes a new opportunity. These are the challenges we seek, and these are the opportunities we strive for. It is the chance for change and progress that drives us as an organization. We know we have

chosen the less-traveled path; the uphill road which many choose not to cross, and we do so with pride. That is why we have chosen to unite with local Democratic Executive Committees, form our own Caucuses, and commit ourselves to serving our community, both on and off campus. We are the generation that will shape the future of the United States, and together we will Keep Moving Forward.

On May 20, 1865 those who were enslaved in Florida learned they were free, 2 years after President Lincoln had issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
