🎉This year’s cycle of participatory budgeting has officially wrapped up and our team would like to share some updates!

During this year’s cycle, our office was able to collect 12,030 votes for community projects across the district.

That is a 55% increase since last year and helped us place 2nd citywide! Thank you to everyone who voted, volunteered, and made this accomplishment possible for District 37.

The J line will not be running this weekend between Crescent St and Broad St due to accessibility upgrades! In effect from June 6-7, Sat 3:45am to Sun 10:00pm.

The J will run every 12 mins between Jamaica Center and Crescent St, the last stop. Afterwards, the M replaces the J between Myrtle Av and Broad St.

Free T430 Shuttle buses will run along two routes:
Transfer between J and buses at Crescent St
Transfer between M and buses at Myrtle Av

For lower Manhattan, take the A/C or L. Transfer at Broadway Junction.

When exiting at Crescent St or Myrtle Av, get a GO Ticket to re-enter the subway. For AirTrainJFK from Manhattan, take a Queens-bound A at Fulton St. Transfer at Howard Beach-JFK Airport.

Over 100K New Yorkers are experiencing homelessness, yet thousands of units remain vacant. This is a system-wide policy failure.

Today, launched Rentals Within Reach. Our campaign demands that vacant NYCHA and Supporting Housing units are repaired and filled immediately. It’s time to cut the red tape, get our neighbors out of the shelters and into permanent homes.

Join the fight: Share this campaign and ask your Council Member to sign on.

NYC has the most comprehensive civil and human rights laws in the country, enforced by the Commission on Human Rights. But, the administration just cut their budget down to Guiliani-era levels!

We can’t expect CCHR to protect 8 million New Yorkers while slashing their resources.

We spoke with ’ about getting CCHR to a $25M budget.

Thank you Governor Kathy Hochul for coming to JHS 383 in Bushwick to celebrate one year of distraction-free schools! The bell-to-bell cell phone ban in schools policy has been overwhelmingly successful.

The majority of students and faculty shared positive experiences with us today. It was wonderful to hear all the ways that it has helped with collaboration, creativity, and being present in the classroom.

Yesterday, we rallied because a failing grid + extreme heat is a matter of life and death.

500+ New Yorkers die every summer from extreme heat. We can’t accept that.

Building battery storage on public land makes our grid resilient, lowers bills, and saves lives.

It’s time to pass Intro 359 and Reso 422 to fight corporate greed and protect our communities. ☀️ 🔋
