أقامت بعثة مصر الدائمة لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك احتفالاً بمناسبة الذكرى الـ 74 للعيد القومي لجمهورية مصر العربية، بحضور عدد كبير من السفراء والمندوبين الدائمين وممثلي البعثات الدبلوماسية والمنظمات الدولية، إلى جانب عدد من أبناء الجالية المصرية في نيويورك والعاملين بسكرتارية الأمم المُتحدة.
وأكد السفير ايهاب عوض، مندوب مصر الدائم في نيويورك، في كلمته أن الاحتفال بالعيد القومي يُمثل مناسبة لتجديد الاعتزاز بالقيم التي شكلت مسيرة الدولة المصرية، وفي مقدمتها الاستقلال الوطني والسيادة، مشيراً إلى أن اليوم، ومع دخول مصر عصر الجمهورية الثانية، تعيد مصر صياغة حاضرها ومستقبلها بالاستناد إلى ذات القيم مع تنبي سياسة أكثر شمولاً تقوم على الاستثمار في رأس المال البشري، وتطوير البنية التحتية الذكية، وتعزيز قواعد الاقتصاد الحديث، و انتهاج سياسة خارجية قائمة على الانفتاح والاتزان، وبناء الشراكات مع العالم.
وأضاف أن مصر وكأحد الأعضاء المؤسسين لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة، ستستمر في القيام بدورها كملتقىً للحضارات والثقافات وكمناد وداعم أساسي للالتزام بالدبلوماسية والحوار والتعاون متعدد الأطراف واحترام الأهداف والمبادئ المنصوص عليها في ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، والعمل على ترجمة تلك المبادئ إلى حقائق ملموسة في كافة المجالات سواء فيما يخص قضايا السلم والأمن وبناء السلام أو فيما يتعلق بالمجالات والتحديات التنموية والإنسانية.
The Permanent Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United Nations in New York held a celebration on the occasion of the 74th National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt, attended by a large number of ambassadors, permanent representatives, and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations, along with members of the Egyptian community in New York and staff of the UN Secretariat.
In his speech, Ambassador Ihab Awad, Egypt's Permanent Representative in New York, emphasized that celebrating National Day is an occasion to renew pride in the values that have shaped the journey of the Egyptian state, foremost among them national independence and sovereignty. He pointed out that today, as Egypt enters the era of the Second Republic, the country is reshaping its present and future based on these same values, while developing a more inclusive policy that invests in human capital, advances smart infrastructure, strengthens the foundations of a modern economy, pursues a foreign policy built on openness and balance, and builds partnerships with the world
He added that Egypt, as one of the founding members of the United Nations, will continue to play its role as a hub for civilizations and cultures and as a key advocate and supporter of diplomacy, dialogue, multilateral cooperation, and respect for the goals and principles set out in the UN Charter, and work to translate these principles into tangible realities in all areas, whether regarding peace and security issues and peacebuilding, or in relation to developmental and humanitarian challenges.
