University Neighborhood High School (UNHS)

University Neighborhood High School (UNHS) UNHS offers a college preparatory program. Students have the option of attending summer courses at NYU. Languages include Spanish and Chinese.

Students may take photojournalism and Internet classes as electives in the tenth grade. Regents prep, AP Spanish and American History are offered. UNHS students are programmed for extended days, meeting with teachers, mentors and tutors in our "learning centers" and after school in the NYU/Sumitomo Bank Tutoring Room. Students are involved in clubs (chess, science, math, debate, drama, horticultur

e), and PSAL teams (track, handball and softball). UNHS is actively involved in its community and benefits from the many resources available, including the Grand Street Settlement, Gouveneur Hospital Adolescent Clinic, Henry Street Settlement and New York University. Students are required to complete 60 hours of community service.
