Jun 14, 2026....This Saturday's Vigil was wonderful!
Over 15 BFP members, supporters and friends stood for an hour once again with a message of peace.
Virturally every Saturday since January, we've stood at the busy intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Hanson Place (outside the LIRR entrance).
• Stop these wars!
• Stop attacking our immigrant neighbors!
• Stop using our tax dollars to bomb
Lebanon, Iran, Gaza, to destroy entire countries
and to kill thousands of people!
We've handed out thousands of flyers, we've engaged in many dozens of conversations, and we've received lots of support from passersby.

We have become a familiar sight at this location — and over the many months, so many of us have participated and have had an impact on hundreds, pehaps thousands of our neighbors.

SO....if you haven't been there. come on down!
Stand against these wars.
Stand for peace and justice!
We'll provide the signs...
you provide yourself and friends and family!

★ Come out this coming Saturday, June 20th, from 2 pm to 3 pm ★
• Flatbush Avenue & Hanson Place
• Just outside the LIRR entrance at Atlantic Terminal shops.

★JOIN OUR VIGIL THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 13th at 2:00 PM ★
Brooklyn For Peace's anti-war vigil has been standing in Dowtown Brooklyn since January every Saturday at 2:00 pm.
Beginning with the shocking and illegal kidnapping of Venezuela's president and his wife. Trump has made similar threats against Colombia and Cuba, cutting off oil to the latter, strangling its economy and hurting its people. Soon, he followed up with a war against Iran, killing and wounding thousands, displacing people and bombing schools, hospitals and homes. This, under the pretext of preventing Iran from having a nuclear weapon, even though just months before he claimed to have "obliterated" the country's nuclear material. .
At the same time, the U.S, has armed Israel's horrific war of genocide against Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank. Not content with destroying Gaza, Israel, given a green light by Trump, has carried out horrfic attacks on Lebanon, displacing over a million people and killing over 3,000!
And so, Brooklyn For Peace, members and supporters, have stood each and every Saturday to say NO! to these wars.
• We have demanded DIPLOMACY not WAR.
• We have demanded that our tax dollars be used to help people; to provide health care and decent schools; to act to prevent the worst aspects of climate change; to provide affordable housing, a scarce commodity in our cities.
We will be back again this SATURDAY, JUNE 6th at 2:00 pm.
Stand with us at FLATBUSH AVE AND HANSON PL ... just outside the LIRR entrance at Atlantic Towers shops.

Come and join us for an hour and ....
★STAND AGAINST THESE WARS!
★ STAND AGAINST WAR ABROAD and
★ ATTACKS ON OUR IMMIGRANTS AT HOME.

Jun 6, 2026— Once again Brooklyn For Peace members and supporters stood out at the busy intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Hanson Place in Downtown Brooklyn.

Holding signs demanding an end to the wars against Gaza, Lebanon and Iran, bemoaning the robbery of taxes by the Trump Administration to be used for these endless wars at the expense of the well-being of our people and demanding an end to the attacks on our immigrant neighbors by Trump's hired ICE thugs, they stood there as they have stood for months to say NO!

Over the course of many months, tens of thousands of flyers have been handed out to passers-by, urging them to call Congress to demand a War Powers Resoluition that could stop Trump from continuing his criminal wars.

Indeed, the House finally passed just such a resolution this week. Now pressure must be put on Senators and in New York on Senators Schumer and Gillibrand in particular who might very well resist such a bill, being that they both often do the bidding of Israel's lobby AIPAC. Calls must deluge their offices this week. That kind of pressure worked this week in getting the House to pass that bill this week after many previous attempts. The anti-war sentiments of the American people is showing its power in the passage of tha bill.

Let's keep the pressure on! Make those calls!
Call both U.S. Senators: (877) 762-8762.

Brooklyn For Peace is proud to support the call for a boycott of Israeli goods at the Park Slope Food Coop.

Boycotts have long been a powerful nonviolent tool for collective action, from the Civil Rights Movement to the fight against apartheid in South Africa. We believe members have the right to advocate for ethical sourcing and accountability.

Join us in supporting this effort and raising our voices for human rights, dignity, and peace for all.

🚨New Yorkers: November 8th, show up for Gaza!

Join Brooklyn community members, activists, and advocates for peace as we call on Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Hakeem Jeffries to stand with the vast majority of voters in demanding equality, sovereignty, and justice.

We will peacefully march from Hakeem Jeffries’ home to Charles Schumer’s home to demand that they represent the will of their voters and not the interests of the Israel lobby or AIPAC.

It’s time to make them hear us.
