BIG NEWS from Camp Kaylie! 💙💚

For years, families have dreamed of a full summer Camp Kaylie experience for both boys and girls. Beginning Summer 2027, that dream becomes a reality.

We’re thrilled to announce that Camp Kaylie will be expanding to a second campus at the former Camp Kennybrook in Monticello, NY, just 20 minutes from our current Wurtsboro campus!

With two Camp Kaylie campuses, we’ll be able to offer a full summer experience for both boys and girls—and give hundreds more children the opportunity to experience the friendship, growth, inclusion, and magic that make Camp Kaylie so special.

Two campuses. Two full summers. One Camp Kaylie mission. ✨

We had such a meaningful time at our Pre-Rosh Hashanah Challah Bake with Charlene — an evening filled with connection, community, and, of course, plenty of challah! 💛

Charlene, thank you for leading us in hafrashat challah, teaching us some of your best braiding techniques, and sharing beautiful words of Torah that have us heading into the new year with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to bringing more chesed into our lives and our community.

The Ohel Family Center in Lawrence is a space built for community. By day, the Center is home to Ohel’s Day Habilitation program, providing individuals with developmental disabilities opportunities to build skills, foster independence, and connect with others. By night, it transforms into a gathering place for families and the broader community, bringing people together for meaningful experiences just like this one.

This Rosh Hashanah begins on September 11—25 years after a day that forever changed our country and so many lives.

In a special Rosh Hashanah reflection, Ohel CEO David Mandel considers what the anniversary of 9/11 can teach us about trauma, resilience, and the difficult work of moving forward—not by returning to who we once were, but by building meaningful lives within the realities we now carry.

That’s a wrap on Ohel’s End of Summer! ☀️💙

Across our separate boys’ and girls’ programs, children with special needs enjoyed a few incredible days filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.

The girls enjoyed a pre-Shabbos spa session at their program in South Fallsburg, while the boys got active with sports at their program at Camp Kaylie. 🧖‍♀️🏀

And while the kids were having fun, parents had the chance to catch their breath before the school year begins.

This Labor Day weekend, we’re reminded of the importance of respite for the whole family. Ohel provides respite opportunities throughout the year, giving children time to connect and thrive and caregivers time to recharge.
