The Friendship Circle of the Upper East Side, is a unique organization with a refreshing approach to helping Jewish families of children with special needs. Our innovative programming and creative activities are designed to foster a relationship between community teenagers and the children by drawing on the love, boundless energy, and dynamism of our teenage population. The children and families
benefit from weekly home visits and recreational groups. Children and teens with special needs celebrate the holidays with exciting, interactive programs that bring to life the spirit and richness of the Jewish traditions. The Friendship Circle consists of five parts - volunteers, children, parents, staff, and supporters. The true beauty of the Circle is how all of the elements link together to form a seamless community of friendship. Just as a circle has neither end nor beginning, our community offers promise, hope and love that have no bounds. There are over 70 Friendship Circles worldwide with an annual conference, international volunteer club, and volunteer leadership conference.
