The Maspeth Lions are a community organization that is a branch of Lions International and is dedicated to serving the community through the ideals of Lionism. To Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. To Promote the principles of good government and good citizenship. To Take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. To Unite the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding. To Provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members. To Encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.

This past weekend, the Maspeth Lions held our 5th Annual Charity Bocce Tournament at Frank Principe Park in Maspeth. It was a great day of family fun and fundraising for a great cause.

Funds raised help provide funding for Guide Dogs, activities for underprivileged children, our seniors and other community programs benefiting those in need.

We offer a special thank you to all our sponsors who made this year's event a success:

Due to the impending weekend storm and the recommendation of the production company, tomorrow’s scheduled murder mystery dinner event has been postponed and will be rescheduled. The new date will be announced as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, but we were concerned for the safety of all potential attendees and performers. Have a good night and a safe weekend. - The Maspeth Lions
