About the Library

Named to honor writer, scholar, and late NYU Steinhardt professor, Constantine Georgiou, the Center’s collection encourages New York City children and their parents to engage with books and develop a love of reading. In supporting the literacy initiatives of the Department of Teaching and Learning and its faculty, the Center aims to make NYU a leader in getting books in the hand

s of children and promoting literacy skills in all children. For children ages 0-3 years and their caregivers: Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30-11 AM. "For children, it is in their nature to stretch minds and horizons; to laugh and play; to seek aesthetic satisfaction through enjoyment of beauty; to sit in judgment of the past and envision the future...Literature for children adds immeasurably to the enrichment of life.” - Constantine Georgiou
