35 years ago today, in 1991, The Center’s Pat Parker/Vito Russo library opened its doors to the public! The library contains hundreds of books and videos for reading, reference, education, and enrichment. The library is named in honor of two individuals who championed LGBTQ+ causes in their professional and personal lives. The late le***an poet Pat Parker, author of “Movement in Black,” was hailed by many as a “lead voice and caller” in the le***an-feminist cultural scene. The late gay film historian Vito Russo was the author of “The Celluloid Closet: Homosexuality in the Movies,” released as a motion picture in 1996.

The Library is open Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. and Sundays from 12-4 p.m.

Last night, we hosted our 12th annual Fashion Centered gala which raised over $275K for our life-saving programs and services while celebrating figures in the fashion industry. the iconic received our Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. presented him with this honor after a beautiful speech about Thom Browne’s impact and artistry. closed the evening with two beautiful acoustic covers.

This le***an visibility week, we’re celebrating the beauty and artistry of the le***an community! Join us for the opening night of Le***an Life, Love, & Community in NYC—a collection of photos capturing the power, pleasure, and presence of le***an life and culture in New York City. The exhibition includes work from Eva Woolridge, Handsome, and Jules Diaz Petta. Opening night features a dance party with DJ Dimple, followed by a complimentary happy hour at Henrietta Hudson 🧡🤍🩷
