As we prepare to create a garden of fresh food and flowers at someone pointed out that there was one single sunflower currently flourishing in our backyard.

Ironically this Sunflower is growing in an area in which the soil is not suitable for growth nor is there direct sunlight. •
This sunflower is a representation of what we stand for at Hope House and that is Resiliance in Undesriable circumstances. Growing despite circumstances not being suitable for your growth and reaching your full potential of beauty both inside and out against all odds.

Let’s all take a lesson from this beautiful little sunflower 🌻

**WATCH**SHARE**REPEAT** There are 200,000 women behind bars in America today. How do we recognize their voices? Mass incarceration is one of the most pressing issues of our lifetime, but how often do you think about the atrocities women specifically face behind bars? Common and joined forces with cut50 to ask us the questions we need to acknowledge.

Mary, Ivy and Topeka lived through it. We must recognize the voices of incarcerated women and girls, and we must stand with them for . ➡️ DignityAct.org

Tune in tomorrow Sunday 9am est. on 126

As a result of the war on drugs and more specifically the war on , women are being locked away in prisons for life! Forgotten about for decades at a time with NO thought about the children they have left behind. This week we speak with Brittany K. Barnett , co founder of that works to raise awareness and help eliminate life without parole sentences for federal drug offenses through transformative legislation and litigation. We are also joined with Kyndia Riley , whose parents, BOTH PARENTS, have been buried alive serving life sentences in federal prison, and Chastity Michel , daughter of a recent recipient speak about the effects of having an incarcerated parent who is sent need to die in prison. We also hear about our sister Bernetta L. Willis who speaks about what it feels like to be buried alive in Federal . •
