Hey family! I’m excited to share that Mather High School is hosting our 13th Annual Career Day, and we are looking for passionate professionals to join us as presenters! 🎤✨

🌍✨ A day of global learning and inspiration!

A huge thank you to the Office of Multilingual Learners for providing our students with the incredible opportunity to visit the United Nations for a guided tour. This experience brought the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) to life and helped prepare our students for the “A Peaceful and Just World Visual Arts Contest.”

🎨 This meaningful contest invites students in grades 9–12 to create original artwork centered on themes of reduced inequality, peace, justice, and strong institutions, uplifting the voices and perspectives of multilingual learners across NYC.

We are proud to celebrate multilingualism, creativity, and student advocacy in action. 💬🌎

📚🌆 NYC Is Our Classroom 🌱🦖

This month, our 10th grade students took learning beyond the four walls and into the city through cross-curricular learning trips that connected multiple subjects in meaningful ways.

At the Anne Frank Center, students explored history, literacy, and social studies themes such as identity, resilience, and human rights. Each student also received a copy of The Diary of Anne Frank to continue their learning across classes.

Students also visited the American Museum of Natural History, where science came to life through Earth Science and Botany connections, linking classroom content to real-world ecosystems, biodiversity, and the natural world.

These cross-curricular experiences reinforce that learning doesn’t live in just one subject—and that New York City truly is our classroom. 💛
