🧫🧪🌎 Our annual STEM Fair was out of this world! Students from NIA programs across Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island came together to showcase their creativity, innovation, and hard work with peers, families, and school communities. From biodegradable plastic bags to robotics projects, the fair was filled with inspiring ideas and hands-on learning.

A special thank you to NIA/MS 890 for hosting this incredible event, and to NIA’s Director of Education, Corinne Colosimo, for bringing it all together. We were also honored to have Jennifer Negron, Senior Program Officer from Pinkerton, and Natzinet Ghebrenegus, Program Manager from DYCD join us.

We may spend some of our day on computers🙂‍↔️, but for Bring Your Kid to Work Day we had some extra special interns joining us in the office.💼 The children of our staff showed-off their official NIA IDs, made new friends, and helped us with some important tasks.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. At NIA, we are focusing on what helps children feel safe, because safety looks different for every child. We invited our K–8 participants to share the moments when they feel most safe. Their answers are a reminder that understanding and listening to children are essential steps in helping them feel secure, valued, and protected.💙
