President - George Hajjar
George has roughly 10 years of management experience. In that time, he has successfully started and sold a business and lead the restructuring of the development department of an international retailer. He has consistently built and led successful teams at every stage of his career, which continue to thrive at each organization he has been a part of. He has a collaborative and result-oriented focus, and his broad range of experience encompasses nearly all aspects of real estate encompassing commercial brokerage, corporate real estate development, and construction management. He is completing his first year within the real estate development program at Schack, and in his free time enjoys running, kickboxing, and exploring the city with friends. George sees an incredible amount of untapped potential in Schack and REISA, and the greatest value he has found at Schack has been meeting tons of new people, traveling to Mexico City on the Three Continents Program, and attending many of the great events hosted at NYU. Executive Vice President - Carl Passmore
Carl is working toward a masters degree in real estate development with further emphasis in finance and sustainability. He currently leads the Sustainable Built Environment Group, an executive subcommittee within REISA. Prior to Schack, Carl worked in banking where his performance was quite exceptional and within the top 1% nationally within Wells Fargo. Carl received his undergraduate degree in finance, and was part of Phi Beta Lambda, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) education association focusing on bridging undergraduate students with the business world. Growing up in Louisiana and Florida, he moved to NYC from Los Angeles with his wife, an interior architect and designer. Carl also enjoys running, biking, volunteering, and traveling to new cities. After spending the past year at Schack, he has strived to bring value to other students, while also exploring the many opportunities NYU can provide. Carl has volunteered for the NYU Schack Alumni Board and every conference this past year. He is an advocate for green real estate policy and sustainable urban development, as well as technological innovation. Vice President - Akshay Gandi
Akshay Gandhi is currently finishing his first year within the Real Estate Finance program here at the Schack. In addition to being a full time international student, Akshay is currently works at Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners where he focuses on acquisitions and development. As an individual that greatly appreciates the value of making an impact, Akshay's previous leadership experiences prior to Schack include serving as Co-Project Manager on a hospitality project in his hometown of Bangkok Thailand, and serving as the President of the School of Business at the George Washington University. His analytical abilities and entrepreneurial ambitions have been demonstrated in his prior roles as a Capital Markets Analyst, and in his prior pursuits of establishing a retail and distribution system for Brooks Brothers and Joseph Abboud in Southeast Asia. In his off time, Akshay enjoys golf, soccer and following the news. Akshay has greatly enjoyed the pragmatic approach that he has experienced Developer’s Den and Real Estate Investment Banking competitions during his time at Schack. Akshay hopes to actively contribute to the enhancement of the institution by utilizing his strengths in content creation, his ability to network and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and his ambition to solve problems creatively. Vice President of Technology - Kevin "Akiva" Milgraum
Kevin “Akiva” Milgraum is an Investment Sales Broker at Marcus and Millichap by day and studies Finance and Investment at NYU Schack by night. Akiva has worked in commercial real estate for over three years. In that time he has brokered nearly $40 million dollars of deals throughout the country and was awarded the Marcus & Millichap “Rising Star Award” in 2013. In his community, Akiva hosts a catered weekly study/networking gala averaging 40-50 attendees and has been going strong for several years. He also volunteers with the not for profit organization called Sharing Seats which provides sick and underprivileged children and their families donated event tickets that may otherwise go unused with some added bonus. Outside of school and work, Akiva enjoys traveling and all things social with friends. His biggest takeaways from Schack has been meeting new people, attending events, and the three continents program to London. Secretary - Cecilia Ge
Cecilia moved from Sydney, Australia last Fall to NYC. She is completing her 2nd semester of the finance and investment concentration at Schack. Prior to Schack, Cecilia worked in Real Estate Funds Management at a global bank. She currently works in Real Estate Investment and Acquisitions. Cecilia is detailed-oriented but goal focused individual, and has had experience running clubs and societies e.g. VP of Toastmasters in Sydney, Australia. In her free time she enjoys traveling, personal fitness, music festivals, binge watching HBO, and socializing with mates. Cecilia is a strong advocate in regards to the Schack experience, and has thoroughly enjoyed being on a number of Schack study tours and happy hours. Treasurer - Wade Lu
Wade is completing his 2nd semester in the global real estate development concentration at Schack. Prior to Schack, he worked in credit risk management at several global banks. He enjoys data crunching and balance reconciliations; skills carried from his prior analytical career. He is a cooperative team player and is fond of socializing with people and volunteering. In his free time he enjoys foods and wine, traveling, biking, swimming, and film. Wade is a very active participant in NYU Schack’s study tours and outreach. He recently visited Nashville, TN with Professor Scott Robinson, as well volunteering on the Three Continents Program tour in London with Professor Stuart Brodsky. Student Council Representative - Schack - Calvin Wang
Calvin Wang is completing his second semester at Schack within the real estate finance and investment concentration. Upon realizing his enthusiasm for real estate, Calvin shifted to finance from the technology industry where he worked for 3 years. He expects to implement the strong analytical ability cultivated throughout his rigorous undergraduate training and work experience to real estate investment analysis and decision making. At the same time, He has been investing in real estate since late 2010 and currently manages a fund that contains 10+ properties, ranging from residential, office, and retail across Taiwan, China, Japan and Thailand. He used to be a TV host in Taiwan for 5 years, and he enjoys traveling and cooking during his free time.
