Project Sunshine’s mission is to deliver the healing power of play to children with medical needs through trained and dedicated volunteers. For over 20 years, Project Sunshine volunteers have brought joy and play directly to pediatric patients through our network of medical facility and nonprofit partners across the country. Over 18,000 trained volunteers deliver programs that provide opportunitie

s for creative expression, socialization, intellectual stimulation, and sensory integration to more than 175,000 pediatric patients and families each year. Our unique volunteer engagement model allows community groups, colleges, and corporations to create moments of connection with pediatric patients, caregivers, and families providing child and family-centered, play-based programming. Project Sunshine partners with 475 medical facilities across the U.S.

The Summer Solstice, aka the loooooongest day of play, is just two days away and we have a lot going on this weekend.

With the support of partners like Mattel, Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn, Kendra Scott, The Los Angeles Chess Social, Little Bird Denver, Brooklyn Bowl and Puzzlesnacks we have activities from coast to coast for everyone.

Even if you can't attend any of these special events, you can still join the Play-A-Thon fun. Get out and enjoy the good times doing whatever form of play brings you joy. There are no wrong answers.

You can also help us by posting your play, tagging us and encouraging your friends and followers to donate so we can bring the healing power of play to pediatric patients and their families.

And it is especially needed for children who are facing medical concerns. The ones who need time to just be a kid. The ones who could really use a smile.
