We visited the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library () to learn what this space means to NYC’s disability community.
For patrons, this Library is far more than a place to find their next read, though it certainly is that, too. Terence Page, President of the Greater New York Council of the Blind, shared that he read 98 Braille books from this Library last year!
It’s also a place to connect with community, access information about the city, connect with elected officials, host town halls, and learn from New York’s disability community.
Access to information is essential for making your voice heard. Learn more about accessible voting resources at nycvotes.org/accessibility.
