Enhancing the cultivation of semiconductor talents with our friends🇹🇼🇺🇸!

外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan）, the American Institute in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education, and the MOEA Industrial Development Administration recently hosted the Freedom 250 Workforce First Summit, inviting 150 US and Taiwanese representatives from government, academia, and industry to attend and engage in discussions of semiconductor industry talent, industry-academia collaboration, and the possibility of bilateral talent flow. MOFA Deputy Minister Chen Ming-chi was invited to the opening ceremony to witness the fruits of strengthened bilateral industry cooperation on semiconductors and other critical tech sectors, alongside AIT Director Raymond Greene, Minister of Education Cheng Ying-Yao, and a range of industry representatives from both countries.

The summit coincides with the 250th anniversary of US independence and the 30th anniversary since Taiwan's first direct presidential elections. As democratic partners, Taiwan and the US have reaffirmed their shared values and are eager to join forces in forging a people-centered future. Under the Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue framework, both sides continue to take concrete measures, including the signing of the Pax Silica Declaration and Taiwan-US Economic Security Cooperation, which is a testament to Taiwan's key role in global AI supply chains and defines the Taiwan-US relationship as a symbiotic partnership of complementary strengths.

The summit's name, "Workforce First," underscores the role of talent in leading technology and capital, a long-standing principle that underscores the Taiwan-US partnership. MOFA will continue working with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the US under the Taiwan-US Education Initiative to boost talent flow between Taiwan and states across the US, to put Taiwan's talent cultivation capacity on the world map, and to lay a blueprint for the long-term development of Taiwan's semiconductor and emerging technology industries.

今天 #外交部 與 美國在台協會 AIT、教育部 及 經濟部產業發展署 共同舉辦「自由250：半導體人才培育高峰會」，邀集台美政府、學術及產業界等代表與會，就半導體人才培育、產學合作及人才交流交換意見。陳明祺次長在開幕式上與AIT谷立言處長、教育部鄭英耀部長及台美產官學界人士，共同見證雙方深化半導體及關鍵科技人才合作的重要成果。

這次盛會適逢美國建國250週年與我國總統直選30週年，台美民主夥伴在這歷史交會點上，再次確認自由共享價值，並攜手打造以「人」為本的未來。在「台美經濟繁榮夥伴對話」（EPPD）架構下，雙方持續採取具體行動：其最重要的成果「Pax Silica宣言暨台美經濟安全合作聯合聲明」，既凸顯台灣在全球AI供應鏈的樞紐地位，也明確界定台美關係的本質——彼此優勢相互加乘的共生夥伴關係。

佳龍部長在帛琉： #榮邦特展 盛大開幕💗

林佳龍部長正在帛琉進行訪問，並應惠恕仁總統邀請，共同出席榮邦特展開幕典禮，與帛琉政府政要，以及美國、日本、澳大利亞駐帛琉使節一起參觀展覽，見證台灣與帛琉、太平洋友邦與理念相近國家長期推動區域合作的具體成果，展現各方攜手促進太平洋地區繁榮、韌性與永續發展的共同努力。
此外，帛琉政府特別邀請台灣「娜麓灣樂舞劇團」與帛琉艾萊州貝利亞斯舞團（Belias Dancers from Airai State）共同演出，透過台帛兩地原住民族精彩多元的傳統樂舞，展現豐富文化與多元。

MOFA Minister Lin Chia-lung was invited by President Surangel Whipps, Jr. to attend the Pacific Prosperity Exhibit, alongside representatives from the embassies of the US, Japan, and Australia in Palau. The exhibit showcases the fruits of regional cooperative initiatives between Taiwan, Palau, and Pacific partners, and the efforts of all partners to ensure the prosperity, resilience and sustainability of the region.

The Palau government also invited a Taiwanese dance troupe to perform alongside the Belias dancers from Arai State, testament to the diversity in culture in both countries.

The exhibit, a result of the integrated diplomatic approach, is an embodiment of Taiwan's cooperative work with Pacific partners.

佳龍部長訪帛琉－第一站：見證兩國醫衛合作成果🇹🇼🇵🇼
外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan） Minister Lin Chia-lung in : celebrating the health cooperation between Taiwan and Palau!

MOFA Minister Lin Chia-lung is currently on his fifth visit to Palau since he took office as foreign minister. First thing first, visiting Belau National Hospital with Palau Vice President Raynold B. Oilouch. A team from Taiwan’s Shin Kong Wu Ho-su Memorial Hospital is currently stationed at the hospital, and the team explained the fruits of bilateral medical cooperation and medical diplomacy.

Taiwan and Palau enjoy diplomatic ties akin to the bonds between family members, with cooperative initiatives running from technology to healthcare, and spanning government and civil society. Together we are forging a prosperous future for both countries.

Minister Lin also met up with many old friends, including Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr and Minister of State Gustav Aitaro. We will have more on the Minister's visit coming up, so stay tuned!

臺灣青年向前衝！🇹🇼🌏
Here they come! Taiwanese youth head out into the world for their first diplomatic mission!

had the pleasure of welcoming the delegation from the 國際青年大使協會 Taiwan International Youth Ambassadors Association , made up of close to 25 university students on a mission to promote diplomacy and strengthen ties with Taiwan’s allies in the Caribbean. Before beginning their mission, the delegation made a brief stop in for additional exchanges. Their first stop? TECONY, of course!

Ambassador Tom Chih-chiang Lee, Director-General of TECONY, welcomed the delegation and encouraged the youth ambassadors to use this opportunity to broaden their horizons. Hon. Major St. Clair Leacock, Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Mr. Roland Matthews, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Consul General to the US, along with their delegation, and Ms. Adelcia Connor-Ferlance, First Secretary of Saint Kitts and Nevis Embassy to the United States, all attended to offer their best wishes to the youth ambassadors as they embark on their journey and to celebrate the friendship between Taiwan and the two countries. This year also marks the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, adding special significance to this gathering. The youth of both Taiwan and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines delivered remarkable musical performances, using the beauty of music to foster cultural exchange and showcase the power of the next generation.

The group then traveled to Midtown for a luncheon with Ambassador Vynnette Frederick, Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UN, and Ambassador Mutryce Williams, Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the UN, along with their respective delegations. Ambassador Frederick and Ambassador Williams offered words of encouragement to the youth ambassadors. Representatives of Taiwan’s allies also took the opportunity to teach the youth traditional dances, adding even more energy to the already lively luncheon.

In the evening, the youth delegation returned to the TECONY building for an exchange with representatives of Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of New York - 紐約台灣商會, Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce of New York - 紐約台灣青商會, and the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey. The youth ambassadors learned more about the contributions of the Taiwanese community abroad and the important role it plays in connecting Taiwan with the world. They also presented a wonderful music and dance performance, once again demonstrating the energy and talent of Taiwan’s youth.

The 2026 Taiwan International Youth Ambassador & Campus Ambassador Programs received applications from more than 600 post-secondary students, with nearly 50 selected to participate in the program. Students were selected for different groups based on their strengths and talents, including 10 students with expertise in drone technology. The selected students were then divided into two groups to travel to two destinations—the Caribbean and the Asia-Pacific region—for meaningful exchanges in culture, education, and more.

The youth ambassadors left a deep impression on us with their vibrant energy, enthusiasm, confidence, politeness, and curiosity. We believe these outstanding youth ambassadors will play an important role in Taiwan’s public diplomacy, and we wish them the best of luck as they continue their journey and embark on this exciting next chapter! 🇹🇼🌎

#駐紐約辦事處 日前迎來國際青年大使訪團，帶領20多名年輕有為的青年大使在紐約增進交流、了解外館業務，並為即將前往加勒比海友邦國家的行程熱身。訪團於星期一晚間抵達紐約，隔天便馬不停蹄地展開一整天的交流行程。

訪團首先於上午抵達 #駐紐約辦事處，與我國邦交國 #聖文森及格瑞那丁 及 #聖克里斯多福及尼維斯 代表交流。駐紐約辦事處處長李志強大使親自歡迎訪團，並勉勵青年大使善用此行機會，開拓國際視野。

聖文森副總理Major St. Clair Leacock、聖文森駐紐約總領事館總領事Roland Matthews及聖克里斯多福駐美國大使館一等秘書Adelcia Connor-Ferlance紛紛率團出席，除了為青年大使加油打氣，也藉此強調兩國與臺灣牢不可破的友誼。今年適逢臺灣與聖文森建交45週年，聖文森駐紐約總領事館總領事亦安排青年代表前來辦事處，與我國青年交流並分享彼此文化。兩國青年也帶來精彩的音樂表演，展現各自的文化風情。我國青年大使演出傳統臺灣歌謠，包括 #客家老腔山歌、 #草螟弄雞公 等，贏得現場熱烈掌聲。

之後，訪團前往紐約中城參加午餐餐會，與聖文森常駐聯合國代表Vynnette Frederick大使、聖克里斯多福常駐聯合國代表Mutryce Williams大使等會面交流。 兩位大使紛紛為訪團加油打氣，歡迎青年大使們接下來前往聖文森及聖克里斯多福。友邦代表們更主動教臺灣青年聖文森傳統舞蹈，氣氛熱絡。

2026年「 #國際青年大使交流計畫」以「青年展翼．台灣前行」為主軸，透過青年、文化、科技及公共外交等多元方式，展現台灣推動「總合外交」的豐富能量。今年共有近600位大專院校學生完成線上報名，近400人參與面試甄選，最後近有50人脫穎而出獲選為青年大使，其中包括40名英語宣介及文化才藝專長學生，今年更首度錄取10名具無人機專長的「科技應用組」青年大使。訪團分成兩團訪問亞太友邦帛琉及加勒比海友邦聖文森與聖克里斯多福及尼維斯，進行深度的文化與教育交流。駐紐約辦事處很開心能有機會接待如此優秀的青年訪團！同學們活潑、熱情且富有好奇心，既有禮貌又充滿自信，與來自不同背景的賓客侃侃而談，一點也不怕生。相信訪團在接下來的行程中，會繼續展現臺灣特有的人文風情，代表臺灣與世界做朋友！🇹🇼🤝🌎

Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan was struck by a magnitude 7.1 earthquake, causing casualties and significant infrastructure damage. Upon learning the news, 外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan） partnered with TaiwanICDF財團法人國際合作發展基金會 to open an account to receive public donations. From August 1 to August 24, 2026, donations surpassed US$9.42 million.

MOFA Minister Lin Chia-lung thanked the public for their enthusiastic response, stating that this gesture once again showcased the valuable friendship between Taiwan and Japan. 🇹🇼🇯🇵

Taiwan and Japan have always been there for each other when disaster strikes, and this time is no different. Taiwan continues to demonstrate the spirit of “Taiwan Can Help” and “Taiwan is Helping.”

日本熊本縣於七月底時發生芮氏規模7.1強震，造成嚴重災情，外交部亦在第一時間與財團法人國際合作發展基金會合作， 於八月開設民間捐款賑災專戶。 專戶開啟截止8月24日已累積超過台幣3億元，不但展現 #台日友好，更展現了台灣人樂於幫助他人的特點。

Taiwan celebrates the with friends!
今年中元節，台灣與好友們一起度過！

The , also known as the , falls on the 15th day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar. As the entire seventh lunar month is known as the period when spirits roam the living realm, the Zhongyuan Festival is a day when people make offerings to ghosts—also known as "good brothers"—so they can enjoy themselves and refrain from causing trouble for the living. Most people make offerings to their ancestors, deities, or deceased loved ones. Many also hold "Pudu" ceremonies for wandering spirits who have no living family members to ensure they are not left out.

Every Hungry Ghost Festival, 外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan） honors these traditions to pay respect to the deceased. This year, for the very first time, Minister Lin Chia-lung invited foreign envoys in Taiwan—including representatives from St. Lucia, Belize, Japan, the US, South Korea, and Canada—to attend the ceremony and participate in cultural exchanges.

In addition to traditional offerings like flowers, snacks, and fruits, our international friends brought specialties from their own countries, such as beer from the US, maple syrup from Canada, and specialty snacks from the Philippines. Minister Lin also prepared Taiwan’s iconic household corn puff snack, "Kuai Kuai," customized with words of good wishes.

Here’s to a peaceful lunar July for our friends and the world!

Uherbelau, Resident Ambassador of Palau to Taiwan, and Ambassador Andy Chen of 中華民國駐帛琉大使館 Embassy of the ROC Taiwan in Palau.

The delegation is set to attend a series of events and witness the fruit of Taiwan-Palau cooperation, including:

✅ Taking part in the 30th Taiwan/Republic of China-Pacific Islands Forum Countries Dialogue;

Happy International Dog Day!
#國際狗狗日🐶快樂！

Today is a day to celebrate “man’s best friend,” and we want to celebrate Taiwan’s best friend — the Taiwan Dog (also known as the Formosan Mountain Dog or Takasago Dog).

Known for its loyalty, vigilance, affectionate nature, intelligence, and high adaptability, the has been officially recognized by the FCI (FCI - Federation Cynologique Internationale) since 2015 and is also recorded by the American Kennel Club. These energetic were traditionally used as hunting dogs by Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples. They were also trained to develop an intuitive nature and a strong connection with their owners, making them highly responsive to commands and relatively easy to train.

Their common traits include sharp ears, almond-shaped eyes, a triangular-shaped head, and sickle-shaped tails. Takasago Dogs can have black, yellow, brindle, or mixed-color coats.

While it is extremely difficult to find purebred nowadays, Formosan Mountain Dogs still retain many of the traits of their ancestors. From devoted companions to loyal security dogs, the Takasago Dog has not only become the Taiwanese people’s best friend, but also a symbol of Taiwanese resilience and spirit!

今天是國際狗狗日，慶祝人類最好的朋友，而我們今天想跟外籍朋友們介紹的，便是 #聰明、 #警覺性高、適應力極強 又 #保護欲強 的 #台灣犬🐾。 台灣犬 （又稱 #台灣土犬、 #福爾摩沙犬、 #高沙犬 等）在2015年被 #世界畜犬聯盟（FCI）認證，亦被 #美國犬業俱樂部 列入犬種名錄。

今時今日已經很難找到純種台灣狗，但曾認為台灣原住民覓食的 #狩獵犬 的福爾摩沙犬依然保有祖先許多特質，包括與狗爸狗媽之間的牢不可破的牽絆，以及敏銳的直覺。台灣土犬的外型特徵含有黑、 黃、 虎斑或混色的毛色、尖耳、杏仁眼、三角型狀頭部和鐮刀狀尾巴。

不管是人們最忠實的好朋友，還是忠心耿耿、 富有警覺性的警犬，福爾摩沙犬不只是在台灣最常見的犬類之一，更是最符合台灣精神的象徵之一！
