WomensActivism.NYC, will elevate and fuel New York City’s under-recognized female activists of the past and present and inspire activism today. Between 2015 -2020 we will coordinate with iconic programming partners throughout the city to create signature events which will celebrate the 2017 New York State Centennial, the 2020 US Centennial, and address issues that are significant to women in New Y
ork City. WomensActivism.NYC which features an inclusive group of under recognized activists of the past and present. On November 12th we will host a revelatory evening of music, performance, art, and oratory honoring Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s 200th birthday to kick-off the celebration of the Women’s Suffrage Centennial. The event will feature an inclusive group of performers who present art that reflects feminist values and empowers women. The celebration will be co-hosted and held at the Great Hall at Cooper Union. The online campaign, launching in 2017, will include a crowd sourced social-media contest to elevate and fuel New York City’s female activists and inspire activism by engaging the public with stories of hope and promise.
