Minimize Your Taxes and Maximize Your Impact

Since 1972, Jewish Communal Fund has helped Jewish philanthropists make their charitable giving simpler, smarter and more impactful.

Combining maximum tax efficiency, flexible timing and low costs, a JCF donor advised fund functions like a personal account for your charitable giving.

Open your fund by year-end with an initial contribution of $5,000 or more in cash, appreciated securities or other assets, and you can:
• Stop tracking receipts and centralize your giving.
• Receive the maximum tax deduction allowed by law and avoid capital gains tax on long-term appreciated securities.
• Easily make grants online to the IRS-qualified charities of your choosing. Grant are sent swiftly, especially in support of emergency aid to Israel.
• Invest your charitable assets and earn tax-free income that is rebalanced into your fund.

Thank you to United Jewish Council of the East Side and Betsy Jacobson for hosting Jewish Communal Fund’s volunteer day today!

JCF staff packed dozens of kosher food pantry orders and then delivered them to Holocaust Survivors living on the Lower East Side. Thanks to JCF’s support of the Digital Food Pantry, the United Jewish Council on the Lower East Side is able to serve nearly 3,000 individuals and families in a dignified fashion, providing them with much-needed, healthy food that they can order online, similar to Instacart.

Thanks to UJA-Federation of New York for helping facilitate this grant and see the of our work in action!

“Show your family the joys of being Jewish, not the “oy” of being Jewish. Give them experiences and opportunities of giving.” - Susan Stern.

So wonderful to celebrate JCF’s 50th anniversary with a conversation with the Stern family about passing on the torch of legacy and how to instill a love of charitable giving in our children and grandchildren.

Special thanks to Holly Newman Kroft and Neuberger Berman for hosting, and to Julia Chu for her insightful presentation of best practices leveraged by families in conveying their values and priorities through future generations.

"My success story would not be possible if it wasn’t for these funders...That’s why JCF’s 50th anniversary grant to CUNY Hillel Hubs, with a purpose of enhancing Jewish life on campus, is so special to me."

On March 8, 2023, the Hillel at Baruch held a dedication thanking Jewish Communal Fund for its 50th anniversary special grant to support CUNY Hillel Hubs. This grant held special meaning for Igor Musayev, JCF’s Director of Investment Services, a Baruch alumnus who emigrated from the former Soviet Union when he was 11.

What better way to celebrate our 50th anniversary than with a special $500,000 grant to CUNY Hillel Hubs?!

Today, we were thrilled to visit Hillel at Baruch to witness their reimagining of what Hillel can be for CUNY students by serving as a holistic hub where Jewish students can feel seen, heard and cared for as a complete human being. We are delighted to help provide the CUNY Hillel Hubs with the physical space and technology upgrades to enhance the terrific programs CUNY Hillels run.

Thanks to UJA-Federation of New York for helping to make this all possible!
