Today, our elected officials from across the political spectrum came together to sign a letter calling for an end to political violence and the reckless rhetoric that fuels it—and we played a role in it.
Last week, three of our leaders, CEO Maury Giles, COO Barbara Thomas, and Director of Debates Jessie Mannisto, met with the Problem Solvers Caucus and shared language we were using to call on Americans to turn away from toxic politics and turn towards one another to pursue .
The Problem Solvers Caucus, led by Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and Tom Suozzi (NY-03) quickly worked to use this as a jumping-off point to develop their own letter to America, and were able to get 36 leaders to sign it.
This move from our elected officials is bold and countercultural. At a time when so many are championing division, they're taking a stand against it. That's a huge victory for this growing movement.
