Braver Angels

Braver Angels Braver Angels is America's largest grassroots, cross-partisan organization depolarizing America. Thanks!

We strive to gather a community of people who model a better way of engaging across divides. We can’t actively moderate all conversations here, but encourage you to check out our Skills for Social Media e-course to learn ways to engage productively here and across spaces and platforms: https://braverangels.org/what-we-do/skills-for-social-media/

Have questions or want to reach out? Please email i

[email protected] rather than sending a Facebook message. We are a scrappy volunteer-led organization and can get in touch with you much faster there.

"Americans are saying the problem of division is in how we treat each other. And the solution to division is also in how we treat each other. We’re both the cause and the solution to the problem. And that puts the power in all our hands."

Our friends at The Dignity Index came out with their first annual Dignity Barometer to help us understand what's keeping us apart—and how we can find our way back to one another.

Check it out:

Dignity in America Download the Dignity Barometer Findings A Special Letter from the Co-Creators of the Dignity Index. In our first annual Dignity Barometer, Americans voice broad agreement: There is an urgent new issue in our country that’s almost as important to them as the cost of living: how w...

Check out one of our leading conservative voices, Wilk Wilkinson, on an episode of The New York Times' The Daily, where they spoke to Trump voters about their reactions to what's happening in Minneapolis.

Grateful to elevate stories from Wilk and other Braver Angels in this piece. Listen here:

Illegal immigration and government overreach are colliding in Minneapolis, fundamentally changing Trump voters’ views of the president.

What’s the proper response to moments of fear, outrage, and division?

Join us in Philadelphia from June 25-28th for our 2026 National Convention, just a week before the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

We’re bringing over a thousand people—equally divided between Red and Blue—to Temple University to celebrate our past and forge the path for our future. We’re stepping up as leaders and stepping into the work of courageous citizenship at a time when America needs it most—and we want you to be a part of it.

Applications to be a convention delegate will go live in the new year. Sign up here to be the first to get notified: https://braverangels.org/announcement/

We hope to see you in Philly.

This , help Braver Angels build a more courageous citizenship.

Every day, our volunteers mobilize local communities and help Americans from across the political spectrum work together. This mission is happening right now in towns, campuses, and even state legislatures across the country, and it needs your support today.

Every donation enables us to take action. If this vision moves you, please consider giving back so we can carry this work forward: braverangels.org/donate

"Americans need hope and they need confidence. The vast majority of this country understands that what is happening right now is not healthy, it is not sustainable." - Maury Giles, CEO of Braver Angels

Connecticut Mirror has launched a special four-part series by members of the CT Braver Angels Alliance.

Check out the first two articles:

1. Opinion: I was the problem (It’s me): https://ctmirror.org/2025/10/17/i-was-the-problem-its-me-braver-angel/

2. Opinion: Don’t try to change people’s minds: https://ctmirror.org/2025/10/20/dont-try-to-change-peoples-minds/

Two more will run later this week!

We're so grateful for this partnership and opportunity for our members from across the political spectrum to share their stories with a larger audience.

My principle for better political conversations is difficult: Do not try to change people's minds.

Today, our elected officials from across the political spectrum came together to sign a letter calling for an end to political violence and the reckless rhetoric that fuels it—and we played a role in it.

Last week, three of our leaders, CEO Maury Giles, COO Barbara Thomas, and Director of Debates Jessie Mannisto, met with the Problem Solvers Caucus and shared language we were using to call on Americans to turn away from toxic politics and turn towards one another to pursue .

The Problem Solvers Caucus, led by Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and Tom Suozzi (NY-03) quickly worked to use this as a jumping-off point to develop their own letter to America, and were able to get 36 leaders to sign it.

This move from our elected officials is bold and countercultural. At a time when so many are championing division, they're taking a stand against it. That's a huge victory for this growing movement.

Here's the official press release: https://problemsolverscaucus.house.gov/media/press-releases/problem-solvers-caucus-members-sign-open-letter-condemning-political-violence

Thank you to our friends at BridgeUSA, The Dignity Index, National Institute for Civil Discourse, and Mormon Women for Ethical Government for working with us on this.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chairs Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and Tom Suozzi (NY-03) led 36 Members of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus in releasing an open letter calling for an end to political violence and the reckless rhetoric that fuels it.
