On Monday evening, the Newalla Fire Department was dispatched to provide mutual aid assistance to McLoud Fire Department. Responding units included one command unit, one brush pumper, and one tanker, staffed by a total of six personnel.

A huge thank you to our incredible first responders who continually serve our community, and to the American Red Cross for providing meals to keep them fueled and supported. We are truly grateful for your dedication, compassion, and teamwork. ❤️🚒🚑

🚓 Traffic Safety Saturday: Move Over, Oklahoma 🚓

Did you know Oklahoma has a Move Over Law designed to protect first responders and anyone stopped along the roadway?

If you see an emergency vehicle, tow truck, utility vehicle, or roadside assistance vehicle stopped with emergency lights or hazard lights activated, drivers are required to move over to the next lane when it’s safe to do so. If you cannot safely move over, you must slow down significantly and proceed with caution.

This law isn’t just about police officers. It protects firefighters, EMS, tow operators, highway workers, and stranded motorists who are just trying to make it home safely.

Failing to move over puts lives at risk and can result in a traffic citation. More importantly, it can cause serious injuries or worse.

Do your part. Stay alert. Slow down. Move over.
Let’s keep Oklahoma roads safe for everyone.

🚨PRESCRIBED BURN NOTICE🚨

The Harrah Fire Department, in coordination with several neighboring fire departments, will be conducting a prescribed burn at Wind Drift Orchard, located at 19400 NE 63rd, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

This prescribed burn is weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled if conditions are not favorable to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Prescribed burns are a vital land management tool used to reduce hazardous fuel loads, lower the risk of uncontrolled wildfires, and improve overall fire safety for the community. Additionally, controlled burning helps restore natural habitats by returning nutrients to the soil and promoting the growth of healthy, beneficial vegetation for local wildlife.

Residents in the area may notice smoke during the operation. Fire crews will be on scene throughout the burn to monitor conditions and ensure the burn is conducted safely and responsibly.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as we work to enhance safety and land stewardship in our community.
