🚓 Traffic Safety Saturday: Move Over, Oklahoma 🚓
Did you know Oklahoma has a Move Over Law designed to protect first responders and anyone stopped along the roadway?
If you see an emergency vehicle, tow truck, utility vehicle, or roadside assistance vehicle stopped with emergency lights or hazard lights activated, drivers are required to move over to the next lane when it’s safe to do so. If you cannot safely move over, you must slow down significantly and proceed with caution.
This law isn’t just about police officers. It protects firefighters, EMS, tow operators, highway workers, and stranded motorists who are just trying to make it home safely.
Failing to move over puts lives at risk and can result in a traffic citation. More importantly, it can cause serious injuries or worse.
Do your part. Stay alert. Slow down. Move over.
Let’s keep Oklahoma roads safe for everyone.
