While we're still not physically open, we're staying busy planning for a fun summer! We have received an Outreach Mini-Grant from Finger Lakes Library System that will once again fund our Adult Summer Reading program. We have some craft programs planned for the month of July - macrame plant holders, book bedazzling, book page flower bouquets, and pet moss ball terrariums! We want your input on what days and times would work best. Check out the options listed and write in the comments or send us a message on Facebook messenger to let us know what works best for you!

Don't forget to VOTE today on Berkshire's tax levy! They have helped us out so much this past month while we've been closed, making it possible for our patrons to continue to order and pick-up library materials!

Berkshire Free Library will be on the school budget tax levy and they desperately need funding! Simply maintaining current programs and hours is not possible with existing funds. Tappan-Spaulding Memorial Library's school tax levy of 2022 does NOT cover the Berkshire Free Library. Berkshire Free Library is one of only a few libraries in the Finger Lakes Library System that does not receive tax dollars.
📚 With a tax rate of $0.146 per thousand of assessed valuation, the average household in the school district would see taxes increase $15-$20 a year. That is a small price to pay for our local library services. Berkshire Free Library loaned $350,000 worth of books last year to our community. This does not reflect the positive impacts on mental health through programs like the craft club or things like free computer access and internet the library provides to anyone that needs it.

We are STILL closed, but things are moving in the right direction! We'd like to once again thank Berkshire Free Library for their HUGE help in receiving and sending our book deliveries. Without their help, our patrons would be without books for weeks!! Little libraries unite!!Remember, if you get a call or email saying your books are in, you can pick them up in Berkshire!!
Also, Berkshire is on school budget tax levy this year! Remember to vote on Tuesday, May 19th from 12-8pm at the Newark Valley High School!

Although, the library remains closed, LEGO Club is still on!!! We'll display the builds on the fireplace mantel in the Noble Room until we can move them to the library!

We’re still taking the steps needed in order to reopen! In the meantime, you can check out Story Time on Wednesday, May 13th at 10:30am at Berkshire Free Library and/or the Babies at Play program on Monday, May 11th at 10am or Story Hour Wednesday, May 13th at 10:15am at the Coburn Free Library. Miss Erin misses you all so much!

We brought our Seed Library with us to Bluebell Day!! Stop over at our tent by the bridge and grab some veggie or flower seeds!!
