The Village of Newark Police Department needs your help in identifying the male in this picture.

On June 4, 2026 @ approximately 5:20 pm, the suspect picked up a wallet that was inadvertently dropped by the victim while at the Dollar General located at 204 W. Miller St. Shortly thereafter, the victim began to receive text messages from various online vendors about someone trying to make purchase.

The male wearing a white shirt, blue shorts, and black durag, left the store in a white 4 door Honda. It's possible that the suspect goes by the moniker Dinero Cruz or Dinero Cruise. If you have any information about this crime or any other crime in the Village of Newark, please call 911 or 315-331-3701.

The Village of Newark Police Department is grateful for the Special Olympics who held a torch run on the campus of the Newark Middle and High School. We're also grateful for the special relationship that the Villag of Newark PD has with tbe Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Lyons, New York.

Update:

All three suspects have been taken into custody. All are juveniles so unfortunately, the law doesn't allow me to publicly identify them.

Update: Two of the three have been identified. The male who appeares to wrap a shirt around an extremity and the male with tbe unusual gait were identified. Need help with tbe third male. Arrests will be made shortly. We at the Village PD are grateful for the level of cooperation that has made identifying two of the three suspects possible.

Newark PD is attempting to identify any of the three suspects in these videos. On May 3, 2026 at approximately 1:03 am, an NPD Sergeant was doing proactive business checks. NPD Sergeant heard the sound of glass breaking coming from the vacant building located at 125 N. Main St. These videos were obtain with the help from our community. In one video, it appears that one of the suspects refers to one of the other suspects as Shawn. In this same video, another suspecr is wearing an Essential brand gray hooded sweatshirt and when he walked away, his gait is unusual. Update:

The suspect has been identified by several community members. Thank you for helping us bring this incident to a quick resolution.

The Village of Newark Police Department need your help in identifying the individual seen in these videos. The incident occurred on Saturday May 16, 2026 @ approximately 2:05 am. In his haste to flee, he lost both sneakers. The sneakers are described as a size 11, Nike Monarch 4. If anyone has video from the 600-700 block of S. Main St and wish to share with the police department, please call 911 or 315-331-3701. He appears to be a male white, thin build, curly hair, and about 18 years old. He was observed running away as offocers were in tbe area doing proactive busines checks for suspicious activities. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Scammers are working full-time in the Village of Newark. If anyone calls you to ask for any payment, its most likely a scam. Do not go anywhere to purchase gift cards, withdraw money from the bank, nor scan any barcode asking for money. This is all a way to scam you. Don't be afraid to hang up the phone and call trusted relative or friend for advice. That call to a relative or friend may save you thousands of dollars.
