At El Patio de La Casa, LCDP's outdoor community venue at 43 Broadway, children play, neighbors gather, and families find something they deserve but don't always get: a summer that feels like home.

This summer, El Patio is bringing the community together with fresh produce at our Farmers Market, safe structured activities and youth programs, cultural celebrations, music, and community events. SNAP, EBT, and WIC are accepted at the Farmers Market.

Families who need additional food support can visit our Family Success Center or our food pantry, where nutritious groceries are available throughout the summer season.

1 in 3 NJ children can't access a summer program their parents want for them. For families in Newark, El Patio is the solution to that gap.

$150 keeps the plaza open all summer long. Because a safe and joyful summer should not be a privilege.

June is Men’s Health Month, a time to encourage men and boys to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Regular checkups, healthy habits, and open conversations about health can make a lasting difference for individuals and families alike. This month, we encourage the men in our community to take time for themselves and their wellness.

Stress doesn't take a summer break.

For Newark families navigating immigration uncertainty, housing instability, and financial pressure, summer often makes the weight heavier, not lighter.
El Barrio Wellness Center opened in late 2025 as Newark's first bilingual, culturally responsive mental health clinic. In just months, we have a 4-week waiting list. The need is real and it is urgent.

"The demand is so high that we are now searching for more clinicians who speak our clients' language and understand their cultural experiences."
— Dr. Enmanuel Mercedes, Director, El Barrio Wellness Center

$100 opens the door to mental health care for a Newark family.

We are so proud of the growth, curiosity, creativity, and determination our young learners have shown throughout the year. As they take the next step in their educational journey, we celebrate not only their accomplishments, but also the teachers, staff, and families who support them every day. The future is bright!
