Join us for an evening of networking and holiday cheer tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 4th) from 5 - 7:30 p.m. at the Aloft Silicon Valley Hotel, 8200 Gateway Blvd., Newark.

Connect with local elected officials and business leaders, enjoy amazing appetizers and desserts, win great raffle prizes, and celebrate the holiday season.

It’s going to be special!

Newark’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting! 🎄

Join us on Friday, December 5 from 5:30–7:30 PM at the Newark Civic Center as we celebrate the season and collect toys for local kids.
Donated toys will support the Newark Police Department Toy Drive and will be given to children at the Second Chance Shelter.
How the Toy Drive Works:
• Bring a NEW, unwrapped toy to the event
• You’ll receive one raffle ticket per toy donated
• Drop toys at the Newark Resource Center table
• Raffle winners announced at 7:00 PM right before the tree lighting
This fun and FREE community event features:
• Cookies & Hot Cocoa
• Performances
• Letters to Santa
• Crafts
• Photobooth
• Community Vendors

Join us for this month’s CERT training focused on hazardous materials safety and using Zonehaven during emergencies.

Hazardous Materials:
Learn how to identify and reduce fire, utility, and hazardous material risks at home and in the community. The training will also cover natural gas, carbon monoxide safety, and how to read dangerous placards.

Zonehaven:
Get a quick overview of how to use Zonehaven and find out which evacuation zone your home is in.

The new Chavez supermarket on Thornton at Cedar is having a soft opening. That means the store is open now and they are getting operations up to speed and training new employees. The official grand opening will be on Saturday, December 6. The store is hiring workers. The address of the market is 5453 Thornton Ave, Newark, CA 94560.
