I am excited that the latest episode of Steve Adubato’s Lessons in Leadership with co-host Mary Gamba features an encore presentation of an interview with my Chief of Staff, Phil Alagia. The episode will air on News 12+ on Saturday, August 29 at 5 pm and Sunday, August 30 at 10 am.

It is an honor for me to present one of the eulogies at Wilbur McNeil’s memorial service. Wilbur was dedicated to Essex County Weequahic Park and, when I was first elected, I used Wilbur and the Weequahic Park Association (that he formed) as a model to revitalize our other Essex County parks.

I am glad that we recognized Wilbur last year by naming the 2.2 mile walking track in the park in his name. I hope current and future generations of park visitors will be inspired by Wilbur’s activism and community contributions.

It was great afternoon playing golf with NFL legend Ottis Anderson, Joe Maurillo and Retired Judge Jose Linares at the Nanina’s, Park Savoy and Chateau Grand Hotel’s annual golf outing.

Today we reopened the Tam-Ring Gibbons Exhibit at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange. The exhibit received a comprehensive facelift to its interior and exterior exhibit areas, including a new netting enclosure.

When this exhibit was first unveiled 17 years ago, it immediately became a popular attraction because of the energy and athleticism of our gibbons.
The upgrades will ensure the safety of our animals and provide them with the most up-to-date conditions. Be sure to visit our gibbons on your next visit to Essex County Turtle Back Zoo!
