The CDC’s “How to Get Help for Your Child” tip sheet helps families understand what to do next and why acting early matters. It is available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese, so more caregivers can access clear guidance.

June is Pride Month, and communities across the country are gathering around themes that speak to safety, freedom, action, and the right to be valued for who you are.

Together, these events remind us that Pride is both a celebration and a continued call to support LGBTQ+ young people, families, and advocates.

Today, DCF announced the "Keep Me Safe" water safety campaign, as part of our efforts to raise awareness around life-saving tips to prevent tragedy, whether at the pool, down the shore, or in the tub.

Being vigilant is “especially important because water accidents and swimming fatalities, while preventable, can happen in the blink of an eye, even when there are lots of people nearby, or even when you may consider yourself or your child an experienced swimmer,” said NJ DCF Interim Commissioner Carmen Diaz-Petti, LCSW.
