The Peer Mentorship Program is designed to match senior students with Sophomore students and eventually Juniors with Freshmen so that there is a two year window of mentorship opportunities. Upperclassmen will be trained through our leadership Institute. “Mentorship” is the process that takes place when a trusted counselor or guide who is considered a mentor transfers his or her knowledge to a ment

ee. This process takes place through three stages, the initiation, cultivation/coaching, and separation stages. It is the passing of information, skills and expertise through conversation, modeling and coaching by setting appropriate goals and objectives. The goal through mentorship is that mentees will grow and mature improving academically as well as psycho-socially.
