Congratulations to Dottie Crump on this incredible milestone! We were proud to host the Licking Memorial 5K at The Dawes Arboretum and celebrate such a meaningful day with our community.

History was made The Dawes Arboretum 5k as Miss Dot claimed the top spot for the 11th time in a row. Her performance was a masterclass in endurance, especially when she sprinted ahead at the finish line. We are beyond proud of her dedication and spirit. Your Dawes membership takes you farther this September.

From September 1–30, Dawes members receive free admission to Franklin Park Conservatory. While you’re there, catch David Rogers’ Big Bugs before it leaves on September 20.

Bring your Dawes membership card and photo ID; free admission is available for those named on the membership card. Parking is free and advance tickets are not required.

The Dawes Arboretum will have a delayed opening tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 29, and will open to the public at 11 a.m.

The delayed opening will allow us to support a charity event taking place on the grounds. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you beginning at 11 a.m.

It’s International Bat Night! 🦇

Join Emma Farmer, Ecosystems Manager at The Dawes Arboretum, as she shares the bat species found around the Arboretum, the essential roles they play in our ecosystem and a few fascinating facts about these nighttime neighbors.

Three of the species discussed are endangered, making bat conservation especially important. Learn how The Dawes Arboretum supports bats through 10 bat boxes across our grounds and discover simple ways you can help protect bats, too. The Arboretum has documented multiple bat species on its grounds through acoustic and visual surveys.
