The Delaware State AFL-CIO is committed to fair pay for workers, as well to an increase in the minimum wage. Several states will be increasing their minimum wage laws on January 1st, while Delaware will be raising it's minimum wage to $8.25/hour on June 1, 2015. How much do you think the minimal wage should be?

A recent study finds that President Obama's call to increase the federal minimum wage to $9 an hour is still a far cry from what workers really deserve. HuffPost Associate Business Editor Caroline Fairchild joins Abby to discuss.

The Delaware AFL-CIO is working diligently through the holiday season to plan our 12th Annual Legislative Reception. This year’s reception will be held in the Diamond Room of the Dover Downs Hotel and Convention Center on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Festivities will kick off at the conclusion of that day’s legislative session (approx. 5:30pm). This event is open to all members, state officials, and lobbyists who are interested in networking and learning about recent updates within the Labor community. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

Since 2012, Our Walmart, an employee labor group, has been staging strikes on the day after Thanksgiving. The group wants workers to get more full-time jobs and make a living wage of $15 an hour.

"Right-to-Work" laws are troubling to us here in Delaware. We are working to prevent such legislation from taking away Union jobs in our state.
