Our Back to School Bash had everything: families, food, backpacks, bounce houses, cotton candy, games, big prizes and so much joy.

From the game truck to the prize winners, this was the kind of day that reminds us what makes Great Oaks Legacy special: our students, our families and our community.

Thank you to every family who came out, celebrated with us and helped us kick off the school year the right way.

At Convocation 2026, we were proud to honor Eric S. Pennington, Esq. with the Griffin Legacy Award.

As Newark’s Business Administrator, Mr. Pennington has been a valued partner to Great Oaks Legacy Charter School. From supporting our High School facilities project to taking time to engage directly with our scholars through Councilmember for the Day, he has shown a deep commitment to our students and to the future of Newark.

His partnership has helped strengthen our school community in meaningful ways, and we were honored to celebrate that impact at Convocation.
