BREAKING: we are asking a court to let voters join the case to defend their private data in the DOJ’s lawsuit against New Jersey.

Along with the ACLU Voting Rights Project, we’re representing the League of Women Voters of New Jersey, Latino Action Network, and an individual New Jersey voter.

The DOJ’s demand for our state’s unredacted voter rolls is a dangerous attempt by the Trump administration to disenfranchise voters, especially within our most vulnerable communities.

BREAKING: The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit demanding New Jersey voter data.

This is unconstitutional, unlawful, and a brazen abuse of power.

We're always ready to fight for the rights of New Jersey voters.

The Trump administration’s attempt to obtain New Jersey’s full, unredacted voter file is an unconstitutional and unlawful overreach and a brazen abuse of power.

NEW: The NJ Supreme Court just ruled that prosecutors must stick to the evidence in their presentation of cases to jurors.

We argued as amicus that putting facts in jurors’ minds of cases that are not before them risks prejudice. We're glad the court agreed.

In-court references to "The Wire," search warrants, and broader crime in Millville could have tainted a NJ man’s trial, the court found.

THIS JUST IN: We’ve filed a friend of the court brief arguing that New Jersey’s segregated public school system is unconstitutional.

“New Jersey’s shameful history and present landscape of residential segregation have led to an intolerable and unconstitutional system of school segregation throughout the state, with young people bearing the brunt of the harms,” said ACLU-NJ Legal Director LoCicero. “It’s crucial that we support the plaintiffs in this case, who are fighting for the equality and dignity of all students in our state, especially those within communities that have historically been marginalized and under-resourced.”

Redemption is possible – we have seen it firsthand.

The Clemency Project has worked for three years to decarcerate New Jersey through the use of categorical clemency. We have witnessed clemency change people’s lives for the better – and the work is not done.

The Clemency Project has made historic strides for decarceration.
