Get your clean team together and 'Slam Dunk the Junk' with us this Fall! 🏀

After a successful summer of 2026 Brick City Cleanups, Newark Public Works is hosting its 24th Annual "Slam Dunk the Junk" Cleanup on Thursday, October 1, 2026!

By doing your part, you will help build community, beautify Newark with clean streets, and inspire others to take care of our great city.

🗓 Thursday, October 1, 2026
🕙 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch provided at 12 p.m.
📍 7 Lincoln Park, Newark, NJ 07102

Cleanup is scheduled in pre-selected locations in the South Broad Street neighborhood. Cleaning supplies provided. Clean teams that collect the most trash will win awards! 🏆

🧱 20 Brick City Cleanups. Five wards. Nearly 1,000 volunteers. One city! Newark-- we are cleaner and stronger together! 💪

The 2026 Brick City Cleanups brought our community together in one common goal: keeping the trash off of our streets. Thank you to all the residents, non profits, churches, first responders, Greek organizations, Councilmembere, city employees, and everyone who came out to do their part to keep Newark clean!

The work doesn't stop here. Keeping Newark clean is a year-round, community-driven mission that takes all of us. While DPW is working around the clock, we urge all residents to think twice before you litter, clean in front of your property, and hold each other accountable to maintain the cleanliness of our great city.

We are wrapping up a successful summer of Brick City Cleanups. Thank you to all the individuals, non-profit organizations, schools, churches, first responders, greek organizations, and everyone that came out to support our mission of keeping Brick City clean!
