We would like to give a huge shout out to Eric Mitchell and Stewart Plumbing for their generous donation of two mini split systems. We recently built two bunk rooms at Station 802. Eric and Stewart Plumbing graciously offered to supply the equipment and labor at no cost to the Department. Thank you for your generosity!

At Hanover Fire the 3rd and 4th Thursday of the month are reserved for fire training. This past Thursday we were invited by Madison Township Fire Department Station-100 to their acquired structure. Focus was on first and second due operations for residential fires. Line deployment/movement, search, and water supply were hit on. Joint trainings like these set our agencies up for success when it counts most. Thank you Madison for the invite.

Crews were joined by our mutual-aid partners Mary Ann Twp. Fire Dept., Madison Township Fire Department Station-100, National Trail Fire Department, and West Licking Joint Fire District. To train on emergency responses involving school buses. A huge thank you to Licking Valley Transportation, Jaes Towing & Recovery, and AMERI CANS Temporary Sanitation for the use of your facility. Thanks to Citizens First Fire Training for leading the training.

⚠️ Follow-Up: Permanent Generators Need CO Protection Too ⚠️

As we contined to respond on carbon monoxide (CO) emergencies into the night and morning. We wanted to share an additional reminder.

A permanently installed standby generator is a great investment during power outages, but it does not eliminate the risk of CO.

Under certain weather conditions, changing winds, or if doors, windows, or vents are open, CO can still enter your home—even when the generator is installed correctly and operating as designed.

✅ Every home with a standby generator should have working carbon monoxide detectors on every level and outside sleeping areas.
✅ Test your CO alarms regularly and replace batteries as needed.
✅ If a CO alarm sounds, leave the home immediately, move to fresh air, and call 911.

Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and can become life-threatening in minutes. The best defense is a properly installed generator and working CO detectors.
