This morning our 5th graders left for Twin Rocks to enjoy three days of outdoor school. Their first stop was the Tillamook County Museum where students learn the rich history of the Tillamook area before continuing on their adventure.

First Grade students had a wonderful experience when Talk about Trees visited Joan Austin.

Students rotated through four engaging, hands on stations:

Art Station: students used crayons to create leaf and tree rubbings.

Tree Sorting Station: students sorted trees into broadleaf or Conifer.

Forest Exploration Station: using magnifying glasses, students closely examined forest artifacts.

Paper Making Station: students used recycled paper to create their very own new paper.

It was a fun and interactive way to learn about trees and our natural environment!

We were excited to welcome Officer Jay Stearns to our first grade classroom as part of our community project. He shared about his role as a police officer and how he keeps our community safe. Our students love learning about his job and asking thoughtful questions. Thank you Officer Stearns for spending time with us.
