Last week, Dr. Miele and Mr. DeBois, along with a two other BARR schools, had the opportunity to travel to San Diego to meet with the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows. They were invited by the Hunt Institute to share about the BARR program and the work we are doing in the Newberg School District.

BARR, or Building Assets, Reducing Risks, is a comprehensive model designed to improve student outcomes in K-12 schools by fostering intentional relationships and utilizing real-time data. It focuses on both academic and non-academic strategies to support all students effectively.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with state leaders and education policymakers from across the country, share our experiences, and highlight the important work happening with students here in Newberg.

We are proud to represent Newberg and grateful for opportunities to learn, connect, and share our story!

We are excited to announce that Amanda Davila has been selected as the new Dean of Students at Chehalem Valley Middle School!

Amanda brings a passion for building positive relationships with students, supporting staff, and fostering a school culture where every student feels safe, connected, and valued. Her commitment to student success and her collaborative leadership style make her an outstanding addition to the CVMS team.

As we prepare for an exciting new school year, we know Amanda will play an important role in continuing to strengthen our school community and support our Wolfpack both inside and outside the classroom.
