That's not a wrong number — that's your reminder.

Aug. 11 (8-1-1, get it?) is 811 Day, and it's the perfect nudge to remember: Any digging project, even a small one like planting flowers or setting a fence post, starts with contacting 811.

It's free, it's fast and it's the only way to know what's buried beneath your yard before you break ground.

Skipping it isn't a shortcut — it's a gamble with gas lines, water mains and more. Contact 811 first, dig second.

Tomorrow is 8/11 Day (Aug. 11, or 8-1-1 on the calendar) a vital reminder to call 8-1-1 before you dig!

Striking buried utilities can lead to serious accidents and costly damage, but there’s a simple, free way to prevent it.

Always dial 8-1-1 before every dig, every time to keep yourself and your community safe!

To our customers:

We are aware of discolored water in some areas of our utility system. Crews have been dispatched to flush lines in those areas to resolve the issue. This is related to the power outage in our system from yesterday. Please be assured your water is safe.

For those that are experiencing discolored water at their residence, try running your faucets for 10-15 minutes and if there is no change, please contact our after hours phone number at 803-276-0311.

We apologize for the last brief outage. The Duke Energy transmission feed went out again. They quickly shifted us to another feed. We should stay on now. Thank you for your patience!

Our system has been switched back to normal configuration. We will be investigating the flickering light issues. If you are still experiencing this, please call 803-321-1018 and report it so we can investigate each instance.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and will work to make sure we have everything repaired as soon as possible.
