We are staffed and ready for winter storm Fern. Trucks, saws, and generators are fueled and ready. Personnel were on site at the shelter and helped get it setup and ready. The group has been fed and praying for a nice and uneventful evening. But if you need us we will be there!

We are reaching out to all former members and/or their families who may have pictures of old members, apparatus, stations, calls, news articles, etc… that we could have emailed to us or reach out to us that we could get It copied to possibly use as artwork in our new station that is pending construction. The email for this would be [email protected]. Thank you in advance!!

Please join me in congratulating Jason Long as our 2025 Clarke Beck Award recipient. Jason is a long time member of the department who had chosen to retire and move to an Honorary member several years ago. Fast forward to about a year ago and Jason decided to come back to Active status and picked up right where he left off. For those who knew Deputy Chief Clarke Beck, he was a very active member who deeply loved his family and he treated the rescue squad and its members just like family. He served with distinction and gave his all, but unfortunately his life was cut short after a courageous battle with cancer. His memory lives on with in the department with the stories that are told and who he was and what he meant to this department each year when this award is given out. Congratulations again to Jason who definitely embodies so many of the qualities that Clarke demonstrated in his life during his time with us.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Hope today is full of great family memories and full bellies but please remember;
• When frying a turkey be sure to be outdoors
and not overfill the oil.
• Do NOT drink and drive.

Please join me in congratulating Lt. Anna Hatchell on her successful completion of her training and testing as she is officially a National Registry Paramedic! Lt Hatchell completed this training while working a full time job as a RN, part time work as a EMT, a volunteer with our department, and attending paramedic school which is approximately 1247 class hours! This is nothing less than an amazing accomplishment for her and a testament to her hard work! Congratulations Lieutenant!!

What a busy day for Rescue 14. Another year of heading up the Ambulance coverage for the Spartan Race along with several calls throughout the day that our Rescue Trucks handled. We also had a crew at the high school playoff game last night. What a privilege it is for us to get to provide the Ambulance coverage for both Newberry High School Football and Newberry College Football games with both teams having such great seasons this year!
