NOTICE OF REGISTRATION
FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
TUESDAY AUGUST 4, 2026
PENTLAND TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF PENTLAND TOWNSHIP:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Pentland Township who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Township Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State Branch Office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms can be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration with https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/

The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 20, 2026.

After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.492) at the Pentland Township Clerk's office, located at Pentland Township Hall, 15474 M-28, Newberry, MI 49868 by appointment and at the following times:
• Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Election Day: Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE The Primary Election is being held for the purpose of nominating candidates for the Governor, Offices of United States Senator, Congressional Representative; State Senator, State Legislature Representative; Prosecuting Attorney, Delegate to County Convention; and to vote on the following Proposals:

• Airport Millage Renewal
• Animal Shelter Millage Renewal
• Library Millage Renewal
• MSU Extension and Luce County Parks and Recreation Millage Renewal
• Senior Services and Programs Mileage Increase
• Veterans Services Millage Renewal

Full text of the ballot proposals may be obtained at the Pentland Township Utilities Office, 13105 County Road 400, Newberry, MI 49868, telephone 906-293-8755.

The April Utility bill will be mailed out later than usual due to technical difficulties over the holiday weekend.

The Township Board's meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 meeting has been moved to Tuesday, March 31 (one week later).

The start time is still the same at 7pm.

Notice of Trustee Vacancy on the Pentland Township Board

Pentland Township is seeking applicants for a vacant Trustee position on the Township Board.

The responsibilities of a Trustee include but are not limited to:
• fiduciary responsibility to manage the affairs of the township
• attend township board meetings
• participate in decisions that are in the best interest of the public.

This appointment will begin on May 1, and expire in November 2028.

The Township Board expects to fill this seat at its meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at 7pm at the Pentland Township Hall.

Letters of interest must be received no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, by one of the following methods:
