🇺🇸 Help Honor Our Local Heroes 🇺🇸

A dedicated local group is working to ensure that each of the 150 veterans laid to rest at the East and West Lakefield Cemeteries receives a wreath every year through Wreaths Across America.

Their first step was purchasing 150 shepherd hooks so wreaths can properly be displayed during National Wreaths Across America Day on December 19th — because as we know, winter weather in the U.P. doesn’t always cooperate! ❄️

Now the mission turns to raising funds for the wreaths themselves, which cost $17 each.

To help support the effort, two beautiful hand-carved decoys created by a Vietnam Veteran and local Hulbert artist are being offered for sale, with all proceeds helping fund the wreath project.

Though the group may be small, their commitment is strong — and the community can help make this happen!

Unfortunately, one of the Veterans registered for the Bass Tournament has had to withdraw due to medical reasons. As we keep him in our thoughts, we will continue to reach out to find a couple more veterans to participate in this great event. Please contact the Office at 906-293-4890. TY!
