🔵E-BIKE PURSUIT LEADS TO DRUG ARREST🔵
On August 24, 2026, City of Newburgh Police Officers J. Rivera, Walrad, Dolshun, and Sergeant Yonnone observed an E-Bike traveling against traffic on Broadway. When officers attempted to stop the operator, he fled, leading them on a brief pursuit through city streets. The operator eventually abandoned the E-Bike near 7 South Miller Street and attempted to hide nearby. Officers located him near 9 South Miller Street and safely took him into custody.
The operator was identified as Kashon Williams, a 33-year-old City of Newburgh resident. During the investigation, officers recovered substances believed to be fentanyl, he**in, and crack co***ne, along with drug paraphernalia. Williams was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with Intent to Sell, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree. The E-Bike was impounded.

🔵MOPED OPERATOR CHARGED AFTER FLEEING OFFICERS🔵
On August 25, 2026, City of Newburgh Police Officer Gaston observed a gas powered moped travel through red traffic signals at Broadway and West Street and again at Broadway and Washington Terrace. When Officer Gaston attempted to stop the moped, the operator fled, traveling through additional red lights, onto sidewalks, and between parked vehicles. Officers discontinued the pursuit due to safety concerns.
Sergeant Yonnone and Officers J. Rivera, Walrad, and Dolshun later located the same operator near Lake Street and South William Street. The operator abandoned the moped and fled on foot before Officers Dolshun and Rivera safely took him into custody. The operator was identified as Juan Clas-Curbelo, a 27-year-old City of Newburgh resident. Officers also recovered suspected illegal narcotics from a compartment on the moped...
