Memorial Day is not just a day off — it’s a day to remember.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. military who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to protecting our freedom will never be forgotten 🇺🇸

Here at the 105th, we especially want to remember and honor our own fallen members. TJ Lobraico, Louis Bonacasa and Joseph Lemm made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Afghanistan, and Andrew Brunn and Jerome Dominguez gave their lives during the attacks on 9/11.

We're forever grateful for their courage and sacrifice.

The 105th Force Support Squadron is Always Ready ‼️

Recently the squadron hosted a home station readiness training for Services Airmen to sharpen the skills they must be able to execute in a deployed location.

This multi-day exercise included classroom training, setting up and tearing down tents, search and recovery operations, mortuary affairs operations and more!

Way to go team 👏

featuring innovation & collaboration 🛠️

As part of the new Combined Test Force, through the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Test Center, the Joint Communications Support Element, C-17 Special Programs Office, and The Boeing Company spent time here at the 105th this week to perform an Electromagnetic Compatibility Assessment.

This effort will re-certify JCSE’s latest version of the Joint Deployable Airborne Package, an airborne communications system for mission operations, which will ultimately validate the system for broader Mobility Air Force application ✈️

In the works for over 5 years, the 105th Civil Engineer Squadron environmental office won the 2025 General Thomas D. White award for Environmental Restoration‼️

Back in 2020, the Stewart ANG Restoration Advisory Board was created to review environmental remediation projects that were needed to address water contamination from 2016.

After years of hard work, the environmental team here has placed first across the Air National Guard and was the runner up at the Dept. of the Air Force award level. Congratulations team👏

It was an honor to host the 2026 last week! 💜

Purple Heart Recipients were honored for their courage, service and sacrifices with an honor mission taking them to historic sites throughout the region. In addition to their stop here at the 105th, they also visited the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, the and more.

We were honored to be one of their stops, as we got to show them the mission and combat history of the 105th Base Defense Group and give them a tour of the base defenders equipment!

✨May✨ we provide you with the highlights of this month’s drill?

May drill had our Airmen hard at work! Inbound and outbound aircraft kept both our Maintainers and Operations Airmen on their toes. The 105th Logistics Readiness Squadron had lots going on as well, keeping vehicles mission-ready and preparing equipment to support the 105th’s airlift mission, and the 213th did an equipment check for functionality and to ensure Airmen could operate their mission-essential tools.

See you in June! 👋
