March recap!

This last March of 2026, Cronomer Valley’s alarm was sounded a total of 40 times for calls ranging from automatic alarms, to motor vehicle accidents, gas leaks, carbon monoxide emergencies, a basement pump out, a rescue call, 2 reported electrical fires, and outside fires/illegal burns.

We’ve been seeing a slight uptick in calls in the month of March going back through our old data.

March 2025: 37
March 2024: 38
March 2023: 31
March 2022: 33
March 2021: 31

That brings our average calls for March over the last 5 years to 35 calls, or more than 1 per day on average.

Our data shows that March is generally one of the lower months of the year that we receive calls. To see our full data set, check out our website at: www.cvfd-fire.org.

If you’d like to join us and help out your community on a variety of calls, stop on by our firehouse Mondays and Wednesdays 7-9pm for an application, or submit your interest to apply on our website!

April fools!!

Cronomer Valley Fire Department is excited to announce the replacement for our Engine 302!

Introducing Pursuit 302, a new and intuitive setup unlike any seen in the country, maybe even the world!

Complete with a supercharged 6.4 liter V8 engine, capable of upwards of 700HP, Pursuit 302 will most definitely be first on scene, probably even beating EMS and PD!

What’s more, Pursuit 302 comes with 500 gallons of water and a pump capable of putting out 200 gallons per minute along with 2x inch and 3/4 cross-lays and a booster line off the rear. Sure, that over doubles the stock weight of a Dodge Charger but with 700HP, it’ll be fine… right?

Anyway, an ear out for it! We plan on straight piping it! Who needs a siren when you’ve got a loud exhaust? Of course it’ll have an electronic Q and a train-horn, because why not.

Be safe, Newburgh!

Happy April 1st! If you haven’t picked up on it yet, this is most definitely an April Fools joke. Though we are expecting to receive our replacement for Engine 302 in the fall, Squad 302 will be here before you know it.
