Today we celebrate 251 years of the United States Army and the generations of soldiers who have answered the call to serve our nation.

Since 1775, the Army has stood as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting the freedoms we often take for granted. As we honor this milestone, we also recognize the men and women from communities like ours who have worn the uniform and defended our country with honor.

To every soldier, veteran, and military family: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your dedication to something greater than yourself.

Happy 251st Birthday to the United States Army. 🇺🇸

Could Indiana replace CenterPoint with another utility or let communities switch to a co-op? And more importantly, what would it cost you?

Many people have asked whether Indiana could force another utility to buy CenterPoint, or whether communities should have a path to switch to a co-op,
municipal utility, or another provider. In this video, I examine both ideas through one lens: what would it cost consumers?

Changing ownership may sound simple, but acquisitions, buyouts, legal battles, feasibility studies, and financing all come with costs. The real question isn't just whether these options are possible; it's whether they would deliver better service, lower rates, or improved reliability at a cost consumers can justify. As we continue this conversation, I'll keep asking one simple question: Will this improve outcomes for consumers, and will the benefits outweigh the costs?

In the next video, we'll examine three fundamental questions: How should risk be shared between utilities and consumers? How should utilities earn profits? Should consumers have more options when it comes to their electric service?

HEA 1002 and utility reform its the beginning of a much bigger conversation.
