Can a community protect its future and welcome economic development? I believe the answer is yes.

The conversation about data centers shouldn't be driven by fear or politics—it should be driven by facts, transparency, and the people who call our community home.

As we prepare for the August 11 meeting, I believe Warrick County has an opportunity to do something much bigger than approve or reject a project. We have the opportunity to set the gold standard for how communities evaluate data centers.

That means asking the right questions, expecting honest answers, protecting our quality of life, ensuring growth pays for growth, and making sure the voices of our community remain at the center of every decision.

Data Centers & Electric Bills: The Real Question Isn't "Will Rates Go Up?" It's "Who Pays?"

One of the questions I've been asked most often is: Will a data center raise our electric bills—or could it actually lower them?

For this video, I researched both sides of the issue. I reviewed what CenterPoint presented at the public meeting, examined examples from northern Indiana, looked at policies in other states, and compared two major national studies that reached different conclusions.

Interestingly, both studies ultimately point to the same policy question:

Who pays for the infrastructure?

If a data center pays the costs it creates, existing customers may benefit. If those costs are shifted onto families and small businesses, electric bills could increase.

My goal isn't to tell you what to think. It's to present the facts, explain both sides fairly, and help our community ask the right questions as we prepare for the upcoming data center meeting.

Great morning in Princeton with the Gibson County GOP It was wonderful spending time with so many engaged supporters and catching up with friends from across the district.

A special bonus was seeing my friend and colleague, Senator Daryl Schmitt, who somehow managed to win these really cool sunglasses! 😎

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Rolling Thunder Chapter 16 and their $1,000 donation, we’re taking another step toward preserving this special place of honor for our veterans.

Planned improvements include:
• A new concrete apron and walkway around the wall
• A beautiful limestone cap
• Improved drainage north of the memorial to help protect it for years to come

We are deeply grateful to Rolling Thunder Chapter 16 for their continued support and commitment to honoring those who have served.

The APC Ordinance Matters: Your Voice Matters Even More.

The Warrick County Area Plan Commission will soon be discussing the proposed data center ordinance, and now is the time for residents to get informed and get involved. Whether your concerns involve water use, noise, electricity, property taxes, infrastructure, or long-term planning, your input can help shape the standards that guide any future data center proposal.

If you plan to attend the meeting, I encourage you to review the current draft ordinance beforehand. You can find the draft and meeting information on the Warrick County Area Plan Commission website:
